My father is Haitian and Dominican while, my mom is just black.
I'm a light skin shawty and because of that, people say that I look mixed. I also don't have the typical black facial features and body type.
I have a little Caucasian nose and I'm shaped like a stick😂 jk I got a lil booty. #lilbootiesmatter
I am proud to be black. I wouldn't want to be anything else. My ancestors were enslaved and treated like cattle for 300 + years, and i'm proud to represent them now. I am proud that my melanin is frightening, and I am proud that my curls attract attention. I embrace all of this ........
The reason I made this chapter about race is because I've noticed that many black girls that are my age, aren't comfortable with themselves. They feel as if they're beneath the white man and less beautiful than white women.
I had a friend and she always said that she didn't like black men, even though her ass was black smh. She said she wanted to marry a white man so that her kids would come out mixed. She wanted her kids to have light skin and 'Good hair'.
There were times when I wanted to pop her in the mouth for saying some dumb shit like that💯
But I guess it isn't her fault. The society she lives in made her feel that way. She thinks that black people are beneath white people. Even though she's black herself............ That just shows me that she hates herself. She feels low.
I don't wanna leak her name, but I hope she finds herself lol.
I've also been seeing this in Wattpad books too. Every Wattpad character is either mixed or light skin as hell. Idk what the problem is but people have gone blind to black beauty.

The bottom line is : Love your melanin. Hating yourself is only giving them satisfaction. You are so beautiful and once you believe that, then others will see it too.
