the letter

10:30 well Phil should be awake by now and is probably sitting on the sofa eating his cereal and watching adventure time. But as I opened the door there he was pacing up and down the hall. Oh now I remember that I was going to open the letter with Phil at 9:30, good going Dan now you have made your best friend worry about you.

"Phil" I murmur as quietly as I can. He carries on pacing. "hey Phil" this time I say with more enthusiasm. I know he heard me but chose to ignore me. "uh look I'm sorry I made you worry but I slept umm through my you know alarm." Finally he perks up and says "you are always such a bad liar Dan you never set an alarm did you? and I accept your apology!" I snort very loudly and only just manage to splutter out a sentence through my laughter "haha you got me! should we go and *snort* read the letter? " From the corner of my eye I see him give me that look he always does, the look that says yes.

I quickly stumble into my room and grab the letter from the bedside table knocking off my lamp in the process. As I exit my room Phil snatches the letter off me as he knows all to well that I could potentially tear the letter up by accident.

We walk through the hall into the living room and Phil sits down. On the other hand I run out of the room and grab some ceral as I don't function properly unless I have had my breakfast. "DAN!" Phil shouts incredibly loudly but then adds with a softer tone "I need to go in 10 minutes so hurry up, I do want to read this letter too! I also need to change strikers bedding in that time." I then precariously take my ceral over to the living room trying not to spill the milk.

Okay the time has come I will open that god damn letter and read it like I've never read before! I grab the letter and slowly rip the envelope until I can get the letter out. Phil then unfolds the piece of paper and hands it back to me. He looks at me and nods, I nod back. I clear my throat and start to read out the letter.

"To daniel james howell,

we invite you and a female friend of your choice to host a brand new exciting game show! It will take place in the Amazon Rain Forest and you will be staying there for a whole year!
