A/N:

ME: I'm once again apologizing to you all. The updates were so late. *bows head*

KAI: It's because you're so lazy!

ME: I'm sorry, okay? It's also partly because I have classes, you know. And of course, I couldn't seem to think who will play your part, you ungrateful creature!

KAI: Here we go again with your excuses.

ME: Shut up, you heartless creature! Don't forget I'm some kind of a god in your world. If I will it, I could make you die a gruesome death in the next chapter!

KAI: And you would be left with no character in this story.

ALICE: *coughed* I seemed to remember, you have people to greet.

ME: Oh, yes! I forgot. Wait. I would like to thank

KAI: You're getting older. You keep on forgetting things.

ME: I'm only 17, you dolt! Keep up with this and I would choose someone so ugly to play you!

KAI: To those people who's reading this story, please already suggest a perfect human being to portray me. You couldn't leave me in the hands of this mad woman, could you?

ME: I'm not mad!

KAI: Then why did you name yourself MADHATTER?

ME: *long silence* One more insult out of you I swear I would make Jessie quit!

KAI: ...

ME: And of course, Caleb would have your neck under the guillotine. *evil laugh*

ALICE: The author would like to thank edjuric11 for your suggestions. She really really appreciated them. Also to ZilchZeroNadaa, Hockeygirl1613, 18whitemoon, KrazyKAtie and a whole lot others who commented and voted on this story. Please continue supporting it!

KAI: *mumbles* evil mad sadistic author.

Chapter Three (Part 1): Instinct

ALICE

“Are you sure you don’t want to know who your mystery guy is?” Rachel continued to pester.

I stared at her exasperatingly. “Stop it. He’s not my mystery guy. And no.”

“Are you really, really sure?” she pressed on.

I sighed for the umpteenth time. “Yes Rachel. I’m really, really, really sure,” I answered as we turned around the corner. We were on our way to the tennis court and we took a short cut. I wasn’t entirely convinced that the rarely used part of the music section of the building was a short cut, seeing that it was on the opposite direction of the tennis court. Nevertheless, Rachel was adamant that we would walk this way. I heard her saying about a room of a band or something but I dismissed it as her usual babbling.

“You’re not really changing your mind?”

I rubbed my temples. She began this tirade since the end of the first period and now that classes were over she still wouldn’t give up. She’s been talking about it for six hours give or take a minute. It was like she was a knight on a quest—a quest to know who the mystery guy was.
