"I never thought I'd have to use it..." Pidge's gaze fell to the floor. She could feel the tears prickling behind her eyes. This wasn't supposed to happen like this. She was supposed to use this data against someone like Sendak but never against Shiro. God, she just wished that she had Matt or Shiro to talk to. But Matt was off helping lead the rebellion, and Shiro... Well, he was currently a fugitive.
Pidge just pushed these thoughts down for as long as she could. But when she ran into Keith in the hallway, she broke. Tears started streaming down her face; words tried to come out but were choked back, "I... Shiro....Keith..."
"It's Ok, Pidge..." Keith stepped forward, and wrapped his arms around her. She weakly hugged him back, pressing her head against his chest. "None of us know what's going on. No one blames you for having that code, if anything we're glad you had it."
The two stayed in that position until Pidge's sniffling was barely audible and her shaking was significantly less. Or at least that's what they would like to say. Instead, they stood in that hallway, hugging, for as long as they possibly could. They didn't even think about separating until they heard footsteps coming towards them. As the footsteps came closer, Keith was still wiping away a few stray tears.
The footsteps were followed by the clicking of claws on the floor. Keith tried to brace them for the fall before his dog tackled. However when they did fall with the dog on top of them, it looked like the green and black paladin had been cuddling before the wolf had anything to do with it. She had her head on his shoulder, his other hand resting on her hip, and their legs were intertwined.
A soft laugh escaped Krolia's mouth seeing the two on the floor, "I'm sure you both have rooms here, and they would be more comfortable than the floor. But if you think that's the best place. Not that it really matters much, you're both needed on the bridge."
Keith tried getting up, with both the cosmic space wolf and Pidge on him, but that proved to be futile. "Ok, Rover, you can get off of us now."
But truth be told, Keith didn't want to let go of Pidge. He didn't want to ever let her go. He didn't want to possibly leave her again. During his time with The Blade, he realized he may love her, but during his time floating on the back of a space whale, those thoughts were cemented, wanted nothing more than to return to her again. Though he doubted he would ever tell her this. Maybe after the war he would, but now just wasn't the time.
The three finally got up and started towards the bridge. Kinda. Pidge was hanging back a bit, shifting her weight between her feet. Finally she reached out and grabbed Keith's wrist, "Hey, uh, Keith... Thank you, for everything." That wasn't all she wanted to say; however, the second part wouldn't come out.
"That's what teammates are for, isn't it?" He turned towards her, a small smile passing over his features.
"Teammates, right...." Her gaze fell to the floor for a moment, before she looked back up at him. "Actually, uh, you know what nevermind."
She started to walk off when Keith pulled her back, "Wait, Pidge... Katie..." He paused, trying to figure out exactly what he wanted to say, "I wish I could tell you exactly what I feel, but now isn't really the time for sappy love confessions..." A blush crossed over his face the second he realized what he said.
"Sappy... Love... Confessions? Keith, what are you..." The Green paladin trailed off, a soft pink blush spreading over her face.
"Heh, heh..." his gaze drifted to the floor, "Guess this is our version of a sappy confession..." A small smile spread over her face before she pulled Keith into a kiss.
