The Big Change

first training

I was outside, walking around in the woods, enjoying nature. I heard someone yell, it was vage, the person came closer and the voice became clearer. The person was yelling my name, I started looking around, trying to find who was yelling. Behind some tree I saw the person standing, it was Kid Danger, I smile and yell back, he started walking towards me and I was walking towards him. We were both walking when I fell, I shot my hands in front of me in a desperate way to catch myself. A lightning bold shot out of my hand hitting Kid Danger, I screamed, I quickly got up and ran towards him. He was unconcious. He needed an ambulance, I started screaming for help, but instead of sound came fire out of my mouth, hitting a tree. The fire quickly got on other trees, and within a minute the whole woods were on fire. I grabbed KD and ran away, I was speed running, I was so fast that I couldn't see where I was going and ran into a tree that also was on fire. The tree wasn't made to be ran into at topspeed and started falling on KD and me. We were both lying on the ground with a burning tree on top of us, I pushed the tree away and looked at KD, he didn't survive the fall. I started crying, I killed him!

I was back in my bed, breathing heavy with tears in my eyes. Lily came bursting threw the door, she walked over to me and gave me a hug, I hugged back tightly. I started crying louder, she was patting my head trying to calm me down.
"A nightmare?" She asked, I only nodded, holding her tighter.
"Sophie I can't breath" she said laughing, I didn't let go, I held on tighter.
"No seriously, you're hurting me" she continued, I wanted to let go but couldn't, I wasn't in control.
"You're killing me" she yelped, trying to breath. I heard a crack and quickly let go, she fell on my bed. Not breathing anymore. I killed her!

I woke up, I was in Phoebe's room (aka my room) I was covered in sweat, and breathing heavy. Tears formed in my eyes, 2 nightmares after one another. I heard a knock on my door, followed by a head coming out of the door opening. It was the mom, she then completely stood in the door opening, she was still wearing her pyjama, meaning she just woke up, probably because of me.

"Bad dream?" She asks now standing in my room.
"You were screaming really loudly, is that one of your other superpowers?" She asks while laughing. I didn't laugh along, I hated my powers and I rather had my old life back than this.

"Get some rest, today's going to be a long day of training, oke?"
I nodded, she left the room, I sighed, lying back down, hoping I still was able sleep after what happened.

I woke up at 8 am by a lot of sound, yelling, running, zapping, more yelling. I walked out of my room and downstairs to see what was going on. I raised my eyebrow at the scene that was happening in front of me. Billy was running around the house, while Nora was shooting lasers at him. Both of the parents were yelling that they had to stop and Max was sitting on the couch enjoying this way to much.

"Max help us out her!" The dad said, but Max just continued laughing. I would've helped if I knew how to control my powers. I walk over to the couch and sat beside Max.

"Max Thunderman if you don't stop this right now you'll be grounded" his mom yelled at him, but Max didn't seem to care so much.
"I'm 18 you can't ground me!" He said, his mom gave him a look, she sure as hell could ground him, Max rolled his eyes and used his freeze breath to freeze his younger brother and sister.

"Thank you, can you now unfreeze them?" The dad asks standing between the two siblings.
"No, it's finally quiet in here."
The mom gave him the look again and I roll my eyes. I then impulsively decide I was gonna do it. A horrible decision really. I unfroze Billy and Nora using my heat breath, but accidentally also hitting Hanks shirt. I yelp and start panicking, Max is laughing again while Hank was running around the house with Barb behind him. Billy was about to run away again when I quickly grab his arm. "Thanks you're making it really easy for me to hit him" Nora says.
Billy tries to get out of my grib but I'm obviously stronger. I pull Billy behind my so he wont get hit by a laser again. Instead I got hit by a laser and it really tickled, I then grab Nora's arm too. "I would stop that if I were you"  I say trying to get some order in this house. Hank and Barb came back downstairs, Hank was wearing a different shirt and Barb was holding the burned shirt.

"I'm sorry I tried to help" I say still holding Billy and Nora.
"We know that, now go eat some breakfast so we can start training" Hank says, I let go of Billy and Nora and walk over to the kitchen table.
After breakfast I walk back to the livingroom that has now transformed into a training room. The table was gone and so were some chairs, the couch was moved back a little bit and there was a huge mat lying on the floor. Max was still sitting on the couch, I roll my eyes at him and look at Hank. I then realise that I'm still in my pyjama and quickly run upstairs to change, careful not to speedrun. When I come back Hank is gone and only Max is still in the livingroom.
"Where's Hank? I thought we would start traininig" I say confused. I then see him flying into the room towards me, and the next thing I know is that I'm now lying on the ground in pain. Well for a few seconds at least.

"What was that for?" I asked kinda annoyed by the fact that he just knocked me over like a bowling pin.
"As a superhero you should always know your surroundings!" He says
"But I'm not a superhero, so why did you do it?" I ask again even more annoyed than before.
"I'm training you as a superhero!" He says excited, my eyes widen at what he just said. Excuse me sir but that's not what we're doing here.
"Yeah hold on a second, I'm training to control my powers so I don't set the woods on fire" Max and Hank look at me confused, I think back at my dream and quickly continue talking.
"Not to become some superhero"
"But Phoebe thinks that" Hank manages to say before I interupt him.
"I know what Phoebe thinks, I talked to her yesterday. But I don't want to become a superhero, not now and not in the future, so can we please just train my powers?" I ask now super annoyed. Hank nods and looks over at Max, I then remember he was gonna teach me my heat and freeze breath. I roll my eyes as Max sighs deeply to get of the couch.

"So we know that you're capable of using your heat breath, well not completly we still need to work on your targetting but that's for another day, today we're training your freeze breath" Max says bored. I look at him with one eyebrow up.
"Yeah I've tried to change between heat and freeze breath but it doesn't work." I say remembering the pillow accident.
"That's because you don't know what you're doing" I scoff
"And you do?" Max looks at me really offended.
"Hey for the record, I've had these powers since birth, I know how to control them. So stop sassing me and just do as I say!" Max almost yells. Well he can't take a joke. I think while rolling my eyes.
"I want you to use your freeze breath on that dummy over there"
It's gonna get on fire. I predict. I take a deep breath in and blow towards the dummy. And like I thought instead of a frozen dummy we now got a burned one.
"I thought I said FREEZE not HEAT!"
I roll my eyes again and scoff.
"And I thought I said that I didn't know how to do it!" I reply sassy eventhough he said I should stop doing that.
"So mister know it all, what should I do differently?"
"I don't know think about freezing"
Well thanks a lot Max. I roll my eyes and try again, and again, and again. But I keep using my heat breath. I sigh in defeat. Then Billy and Nora come downstairs while arguing.

"No Billy for the last time I'm not to old to wear bows!" Nora says mad
"If I'm to old to play with my food than you're to old to wear bows!" Billy says back
"Playing with food is childish and dumb, bows are fashion!"
I roll my eyes, I can't get this freeze thing right if they keep yelling in my ear. "Well I think bows also are childish and dumb!" Nora is deeply offended by that statement, and shoots lasers at Billy.
"Take that back!" She yells even louder then before. "Never!" Billy yells back and starts running around the house just as this morning. He's running around the livingroom to where I'm trying to train.
"Guys can you stop I'm trying to train!" I yell at the chaos around me, but they don't listen. I get more annoyed by the minute as this continues going on. When they start running around the livingroom again, I snap. I use my freeze breath on both of them and then it's finally quiet.
I sigh before realizing what I just did, I look at Max and he puts two thumbs in the air. I smile before unfreezing them again, Max than sends them back upstairs. I switch a few times between my freeze and heat breath before taking a break. If everything goes at this speed I'm done next week.

But not everything goes at this speed. I have a lot of problems with my lightning. At first I'm not able to get it out of my hands without falling on my ass. And then I'm not capable of targeting ones again, it takes the whole afternoon to get close to hitting the dummy. Barb says we're going to continue this tomorrow, I'm also going to train my superspeed because I keep accidentally speedrunning. And  I also don't know how to stop running without hitting a wall. But that's tomorrow, I first need to get a good rest sleep. Hopefully without nightmares.

I didn't know I was capable of writing long chapters 😂. Well don't get used to it though
