Riley's POV

We were currently almost to the hospital. I couldn't do anything except shake. My hands were shaking. My legs were shaking. I was freaking out on the inside. I guess Daniel must've noticed because he took one hand off the wheel and grabbed my hand.

"It's going to be okay, Riley," He said , "I promise you."

I took a deep breathe and gave him a nod. He quickly squeezed my hand to give me reassurance.

Just as I started to calm down we got to the parking lot.

"Are you ready?" Daniel asked.

"Mhm" I said after closing my eyes trying to to break down.

"If you don't mind me asking, why did the court find him unfit to take care of you. What happened?" Daniel asked still holding my hand.

"Um so after my mom died he just kinda lost it. He was never sober. Always out of the house. He didn't even know where I was most of the time because he once literally threw a beer bottle at me and I was scared if he knew where I was he'd hurt me." I told Daniel wiping my tears every few seconds.

I finally looked up at Daniel , scared to see his reaction, and to my surprise a saw a few tears leave his eyes.

"Omg I'm so sorry I didn't mean to make you cry, Dani!" I said leaning over the center console to hug him.

(The center console is the compartment between the two front seats)

He hugged back and when I finally pulled away he just looked at me. Before I knew it he was glancing down at my lips.

"Ca-can I kiss you?" He asked making my heart melt.

I nodded and he leaned in.

Our lips met and it's like everything in time froze. I forgot about my dad. I forgot that we were outside a hospital. And I all I could focus on was him and how our lips were moving perfectly in sync.

He pulled away and then gave me one last soft kiss before asking if I was ready to go in. I shook my head 'yes' and we walked into the hospital.

"We're here for Mr.Hunter." I said to the lady at the desk.

"I presume you're Riley? And who may you be?" She asked pointing to Daniel.

"Oh I'm her cousin. Mr.Hunter is my uncle." He said as convincing as possible.

(Only family members are allowed for now)

"Okay well he is in room 114 on the 2nd floor."

"Oh okay. Thank you." Daniel said as he grabbed my hand and we quickly walked to the nearest elevator.

"Do you think she believed me?" Daniel asked.

"Well she let you up here so she either believed you or just let it slide." Just then the elevator made a ding sound and the doors opened.

Daniel and I walked hand in hand because of how much I was shaking.

Soon enough we were at the closed door of my fathers room.

"You ready?" Daniel asked.

I shook my head and opened the door.

"Riley? Is that you sweetheart?" My father asked.

"Yea. It's me dad."

"Oh and whose this?"

"Oh uh hi I'm Daniel. Nice to meet you Mr.Hunter."

"Oh please call me Jim. 'Mr' makes me feel old" Daniel and my dad laughed as I stood there holding back the tears.

"Sweetheart what's wrong?" My dad asked.

"It's just I haven't seen you since the whole incident." I said now sobbing.

My dad just opened his arms and engulfed my into a hug.

We are on our way back to the house. We were there with my dad for hours and it was great. We got to talk about all the stuff that happened since we stopped talking and how I met a really cool group of 5 guys, referring to the boys of course, I literally have no other friends.

"I'm really happy that he's okay." Daniel said out of no where. 

"Thanks Dani." I said.

"Hypothetically if I were to ask you on a date would you say yes?"

"Daniel Seavey are you asking me on a date after 3 days of knowing each other?" I said sarcastically.

"Maybe..." He said quickly smiling at me then looking back at the road.

"Well then, hypothetically of course, I'd say yes." I said blushing.

"So how about not so hypothetically I pick you up tomorrow at your house at nine?" He asked.

"Sounds good."

Daniel and I spent the rest of the car ride singing along to songs. We finally arrive back at the boy's house at about 7:05.

"Hey guys. How was your dad?" Jack asked the second we walked through the door.

"He's fine just a few broken bones."

"Well we have pizza in the kitchen if you guys are hungry." Zach said while FaceTiming his mom, Myta, and walking upstairs so it'd be more quiet.

Daniel and I went into the kitchen and ate.

"I think I'm gonna head home." I said as it was now 8 and I NEED my beauty sleep.

"Okay. Are we still on for tomorrow?" He asked.

"Yup."

"See you then," he smiled, "drive safe."

"See ya." I said walking out the door.

I hope you guys liked today's chapter.
