Bay tried her best to calm her pounding heart.

Was she too loud? Did he smell something weird? Was she that obvious?

Too many questions were floating in her head and her face wouldn't stop being red.

Bay pulled open the refrigerator door in a violent motion and grabbed the nearest packet of juice and gulped its contents.

The juice was ice cold and sweet. If it weren't for her intense need to calm down, she would've taken her time to drink it as if it was fine wine.

God, she was so embarrassed.

How the hell did he know? Was it that obvious?

Letting out a exasperated sigh, Bay sat down on her kitchen floor and leaned her head on her refrigerator.

If Minseo found out about this it would be the end of her. Minseo would use every opportunity to embarrass her.

Bay sat on her floor for a few more minutes pouting and whining a little, kicking her legs with frustration.

How could she still share a bed with Jaebum now?

Before her mind could wander further, the sound of her bedroom door opening signalled to her that Jaebum was done showering.

Bay glanced at the clock in her kitchen, it was only a few minutes past ten.

Though she was a little tired she desperately wanted nothing more but to be far away from Jaebum and hide in embarrassment.

Jaebum found her on the kitchen floor and sat down with her.

"Hey." He said softly. Jaebum didn't try to reach out and touch her and Bay was grateful for that.

Maybe all they needed was to talk and resolve some things.

"Hey." Bay replied, daring to look Jaebum in the eye.

His warm brown eyes were shining at her and then disappeared into crescents as he smiled at her.

Bay's heart thudded in her chest as she watched the smile form on his face. Jaebum really was the most beautiful man she ever laid eyes on. Well, vampire.

Jaebum must have noticed the change of tension in the air because his smile grew smaller and he met Bay's intense stare with his own sweet gaze.

"I'm scared." Bay admitted quietly, not breaking eye contact. "I don't know how mates work, but as much as I want things to go slowly... I can't help but want to be closer to you. Much more closer than I've ever been with someone."

Jaebum's sharp intake of breath made Bay cast her stare to his parted lips. Wonderfully rosy and desirable.

"There's so much you still don't know about me, and so much I still don't know about you." Bay continued, her gaze flickered back to Jaebum's warm brown eyes.

"The past three days have been weird, but special. Nobody has ever made me feel special in my life before. But you did." She reached out to put her hand above Jaebum's.

Jaebum didn't break their eye contact and intertwined their fingers together, giving her a gentle smile.

Bay felt her heart melt to mush as she struggled to find the resolve to continue her little speech instead of ravishing Jaebum's lips immediately.

"I was going to kill myself today." Bay told Jaebum in a shaky voice. Jaebum's eyes widened in surprise and he gripped her hand tighter.

"I had been planning it since the week before. But then you showed up on Friday, claiming to be my mate and I guess I just wanted companionship, even if it was from a vampire." Bay let out a chuckle as she thought back to Friday night.
