nine - vampire's company

It had been 2 weeks since Jaebeom moved out and it was safe to say that Bay missed the vampire a lot.

The daily texts and calls weren't enough for her especially since she was starting to get swamped at work.

Everyone was depending on her for the year-end reports.

Yes.

Reports.

Bay blames it on her inability to say 'no' to her coworkers asking for help. Most of them were fresh graduates and interns and she had already adopted the older sister role to them at work so it would make sense that they had come to depend on her.

But things weren't easy on Jaebeom's end either. With the family business to run he had to attend several meetings and even forgo his precious sleep.

The only time the 2 could sit down and relax was when they called each other at night.

Bay got into her bed and pulled her covers up until her chest as she dialled the vampire hoping he'd pick up and provide her with his much needed company.

Jaebeom picked up on the second ring.

"Beom-ah, did you get any sleep?" Bay asked before yawning widely, skipping the formalities of greeting.

"Yeah, I napped for like thirty minutes today... Or was it yesterday?" Jaebeom replied, sleepiness evident in his voice.

Bay chuckled before changing the tone of her voice, "I miss you." She said quietly.

"Me too."

"I wish this week would end sooner," Bay said, "I'm almost done with those damn reports anyways."

"Ah... I suspect that my company's going to keep me busy for at least another week or 2..." Jaebeom sighed.

Bay hummed a response before stopping mid-hum, "Wait, which company is it?" she asked, realising she had never asked Jaebeom about his career at all. She just assumed he was a random rich kid that happened to be a vampire.

"Immortality comes with its benefits, my parents are the founders of X company," Jaebeom explained proudly. Bay could almost see his smile through the phone call.

She continued smiling dumbly to herself for awhile until she realised the company Jaebeom mentioned was the very one she still held a grudge for.

"Hmm, X company..." Bay drawled out, "If I remember it was about 3-4 years ago when I applied for a managerial position there and got rejected."

A very loud and audible bang was head on Jaebeom's end of the line.

"What? We could've been in the same building all those years ago!" Jaebeom exclaimed.

Bay snickered as she listened to Jaebeom continue rambling about their missed opportunity.

"I'm going to find the guy who rejected you and fire him." Jaebeom announced.

"It was years ago, I don't even remember who was on the panel of interviewers!" Bay cajoled after hearing the conviction in the vampire's voice.

Of course Bay remembered.

Some dude called Min Yoongi was the one who grilled her endlessly at the interview, forcing her answer question after question with no breaks. Bay was sweating buckets by the time Min Yoongi decided he had tortured her enough.

Jaebeom grumbled and collapsed back into his chair after shooting up from his chair in a moment of frustration.

"This Friday," Bay began, "I'm going to your office to kidnap you at 6 in the evening sharp."

Jaebeom chuckled, "I look forward to it. If my mate is going to such lengths for date night I'll definitely make it."

"Then I'll see you on Friday?" Bay asked, excitement started to bubble within her.

"Yes baby, Friday it is." Jaebeom replied in a lowed pitch than usual, causing Bay to blush as she heard his voice right next to her ear.

"Bye!" Bay blurted out and ended the call hurriedly. Her face had gone red and she was fanning her face with her hand as she tried to recover from the heart-racing experience.
