Chapter two

Wooh! *wipes nonexistent sweat from forehead* So I had a bit of trouble starting off, as this is my first chapter. I've been suffering from a major writers block lately
(plus I had to rewrite the whole flipping chapter) so this chapter was probably trash. Hope to write better chapters in the future tho!

Mom's POV

When I come home I want to see a clean and tidy house, with a respectful son waiting to greet his mother. I don't want to see a oversized mutt walking through my living room like it belongs here.

Honestly, I don't understand why that son of mine has to be so difficult. I don't ask much of him.
I just want him to graduate college, become a doctor like the rest of his family, and not disappoint me.
If only I could trade my son in for a better one.... I guess it's a bit late for that though..

Ruben's POV

I've been a rogue for a while now. Although I have found a small group of trustworthy friends, I still grow lonely at times. I should be used to that though. I didn't think I would find a new pack and I surely didn't think I would ever find a life partner.

But~.. I think might have finally found someone that peeks my interest... In more than one way, if you catch my drift.

It confuses me though. He's just very different from the other partners I've been with.
But I guess they don't really count since they were all sexual partners.

When I think back to the Wolves I was with before I fail to understand how I tolerated being next to them. When I first smelt Ash's scent all others scents were irrelevant to me. His aroma was like no other.
Which only made my interest in him increase.

Though the thought of him referring to me as a dog was very offsetting.

I was snapped out of my deep thoughts when I heard the door open followed by a mellow voice.

"Hi mother" Ash gave a warm smile to his bitter faced mother as he hugged her loosely.

"Good afternoon" His mother replied as her eyes irritatedly wondered to my sprawled out form laying across the living room floor.

"Ash Why is there an overgrown dog lounging in my living room"
She crossed her arms and turned to her son.

"Well~... I hoped that he would stay in my room until I got back from the store but.. ya know.. As you can see that didn't work out too well" He laughed stiffly while most likely panicking internally.

"So you want to keep it"
She crossed her arms.

It

She just revered to me as it
Wow, how flattering.

"Yes"
Ash stated bluntly.

"Ash be serious, you can't even take care of yourself. How will you be able to take care of an overgrown mutt"
Ash sighed and walked over to his mother.

"Mother please, this will be good for me. It.. Could take my mind off things. The bad things"
There was desperation in his face and voice.

I got up and sat down in front of him, nudging his leg to get his attention.

He smiled when he looked down at me but his mother scowled bitterly.

"Take your mind off of things?
What you need to be doing is trying to focus more on school!"
She practically shouted which I did not like.

A low growl emitted from my throat. I sat up to face the woman in front of me. Even though I was sitting on my hind legs I was still towering over her.

She better find her place and do it quicky before I knock that big wobbly head off her shoulders.

"Ssh~ It's okay Ruben" He cooed at me patting my head. Even though I didn't like being treated like a common dog, I couldn't help but relax and wag my tail at the affection he was showing me.

"You need time to calm down.
Ruben and I are gonna go to the store, alright"
He loosely hugged his mother. But once again she didn't return the hug, she just stood with a sour expression.

"Come on, Ruben"

I walked away and followed Ash out of the house and down the side walk. Apparently the pet store wasn't far because we were there in minutes.

"Guess what Ruben, Daddy's gonna get you a collar. So every one can know that you belong to me!"
(wow, what a sexual innuendo)

I yipped and wagged my tail excitedly. He picked out a black collar with silver lining. There was a round pendant hanging from it. On it was engraved,

"Ruben

Property of Ash Cameron

2034 Lexington street"
