So I did just that. I slumped down into my bum, and rested my head against the frame I was leaning against.
I hope this works.
Sleepy...
As I heard Cas and his father coming closer, i forced myself to close my eyes and slow my breathing. Although I wouldn't be fully asleep, I would be able to fool them. At least, I hope I will.
I heard a small gasp. "What is Alex doing here?" I heard Cas ask.
"Well, i wouldn't know," I heard his father say, "hes on the complete opposite side of the house as your room."
Ohhh, thats why I couldn't find my way back, I thought.
"What is he thinking?" Cas asked.
Huh, could they read my mind?
"He's not asleep, I can tell you that," his dad whispered, sighing heavily, "Or at least fully asleep."
Oh my God, what the heck is he doing!
I felt someone shake me.
"Hey, Alex, are you ok?" I heard his father.
Play the act, play the act.
I slowly opened my eyes to see Cas and his father, sharing a small frown.
"Huh?" I said, playing the part of a confused, and dazed just woken up act.
"Alex," his father said very seriously, "how much did you hear? Oh, and dont try and act like you dont know what I'm talking about, I can tell you were definitely not asleep."
Füçķ.
I sat there, having an obvious conflict in my head.
His dad lifted me up by the elbow, and showed me to a small office.
"Ok, I dont want you to be scared, but I need to know what you heard," his dad said with a sigh, sitting down across the small table.
Cas pulled up a chair next to me. Slowly, he grabbed my hand, steadying it.
"Well, um, I was trying to find a bathroom, or um, Cas to show me to a bathroom. And, um, as I was going to turn, um, the corner, i heard you, "I said, pointing to Cas's dad, "And, I, um, freaked out a little. But instead of, um, I dont know, running back to the room, I just stood there, because, I, um, heard something that, I dont know, sparked my interest?"
"Ok, and?"
"I, um," I paused, thinking of myself as crazy, for thinking of what I thought I heard.
"Hey," Cas said, "it's ok, we won't judge."
"Well, I, um, thought you said something about, um, wolves," I said, closing my eyes, waiting for the laughing to begin.
I opened my eyes, after a few seconds of no laughter being heard, to see Cas and his dad sharing a look.
"Alex, our family has something different about it," Cas's dad sighed, "um, we are, um, oh God. We are werewolves."
I sat there, a look of shock on my face.
