(katies pov)
'katie bug are you home?!' i heard my mom call. 'yes mom i'll be down in a minute i'm finishing up some homework!' my mom has always been my best friend... but i just can't let her know what's been happening lately. saying that school sucks is an understatement, yeah some people don't like school for the homework and some don't like it because of the teachers and having to get up early everyday, me, i hate school because of the people. the bullies. i have been bullied since i was in kindergarten and it's only gotten worse in high school. my (ex) best friend lisa was there for me when we were little but then as you head in other stories. she was just a big lying backstabber. i really don't like to talk about what she did years ago so i never do. anyways my mom called out to me and said 'dinner is almost ready and your dad should be home soon!'. my dad is the best! when i was younger he was the absolute worst! i would come home from school and he would be drunk on the couch yelling at the tv and as soon as i walked through the door he turned his attention on me so i would be yelled at and spanked for walking through the door of my own house after school. so i kept my distance from him after that and mostly kept myself locked up in my room my whole middle school life. i never went out with friends on the weekend. part of the reason for that was because i couldn't face my dad again and the other was because, well, i didnt have any friends. so as the years went by i promised myself i would get out of my room and at least try to make friends. i did and that resulted in me having even more deep cuts all over my wrists. my father tried extremely hard once he saw my wrists a couple days after i tried to make friends and he stopped drinking and yelling and tried to build a relationship with me and my mom again. he has slowly gotten better and now i trust him with anything. i heard the door slam from downstairs which startled me causing the blade to cut deeper than i intended. most days i would end with 5 new cuts on my wrists. yup you guessed it - for jack, corbyn, jonah, daniel, and zach. i always did 5 cuts for them. they are the ones that keep me alive. i finally finished my 'homework' and went downstairs to see my father with the biggest smile on his face.

k- yo dad what's with the goofy look?
d- we'll i have a very special surprise for you my sweet girl!
k- ooh is it a new car? a dog? a new phone? ooh is it a boy??
d- no it's none of those things but it's 1000x better!
k- come on dad there's really not anything better than that but why don't we! i don't guess you got me why dont we did ya dad?! hahaha
d- well sorta...
k- WHAT DOES THAT MEAN SORTA AM I FINALLY GONNA MEET THEM!!!!????

k- MOM IS HE LYING RIGHT NOW?!
m- nope we are moving to la your father got a new job working with the boys! are you excited sweetie?!
k- I AM BEYOND EXCITED I NEED AN ASPIRIN MOMMY!!!!!!!!

so the next few days katie and her parents spend all day packing and cleaning their house which was already sold and moved the next
week!
