"I can't believe how terrible the weather has been all week," you laughed to Desmond, with your phone close to your ear and your other hand clutching your umbrella to keep you dry. You decided to walk home from work the next day, again, even though it was more than just a drizzle outside. Still, the walk was refreshing, even in your high heels, and you were already reaching your apartment in no time.

"Maybe it will get better by the weekend," he replied. You were about to ask him something along the lines of if he had plans for you or not, but as you approached your building, you heard a commotion near the alley just before the entrance. You paused, trying to listen in on what sounded like a few people arguing. "Are you there?" You heard Desmond's voice again, but ignored it to tread carefully around the corner, taking slow steps against the sidewalk, until you were able to peek down the alley and spot Jungkook, the boy from the stairs, with two others around him.

"Yeah..." You answered, voice barely even a whisper as you watched. Jungkook's body was tense. His fists were clenched and his head was lowered with a scowl on his face. You couldn't see the other two with their backs to you, but you guessed they were in no better positions.

Suddenly the boy on the right reached for Jungkook, grabbing him by the sweatshirt and sending him face first into the ground. That's when you noticed a backpack on his back, with a few items pouring out now that he was rolling over on his side, wincing in pain.

"I'm going to have to call you back," you told Desmond, hanging up the phone without giving him a chance to respond.

Before you could realize what you were doing, you marched with your heels clicking down the alley, yelling at the two boys to stop while removing the umbrella from over your head to close it and use as a weapon, if needed.

You knew the two boys could overpower you if they wanted, but something in your voice told them to run, as if you were actually someone in important. And run they did, down the opposite end of the alley, leaving you and a groaning Jungkook alone.

"Are you okay?" You knelt down to examine him with your hand gently on his shoulder, but he was on his feet in no time, jerking his body away. Startled at his reaction, you froze, then stood up straight and ran your hand over your skirt.

"I'm alright," was all he said, then looked down to see the few fallen items from his bag and quickly reached to pick them up.

"Who were those boys? And why were they messing with you?" Jungkook glanced at you, the hood on his sweatshirt falling back and now you could see just how his fall to the ground had busted his lip. "Oh no, you're bleeding." You reached out to touch, most likely out of extinct as if he were an injured puppy, but Jungkook took two steps away so you couldn't touch him.

"Just over some stupid shit."

You sighed. Of course he wouldn't make this easy and tell you. "Do you want to come in? It's starting to pour." You now realized your clothes were becoming wetter, not having the umbrella to protect you. Jungkook remained silent, only staring at the ground. You knew he was thinking the idea over in his head. He must have wanted to, otherwise he could have easily ran like the other two boys and ignored your questions. However, something was keeping him there, and you guessed he didn't really know what it was either. "You can clean your lip up. Don't want your parents to know you got in a fight, right?" You laughed, and you noticed his expression flash darker for a moment, then his eyes lifted to meet yours and he nodded.

"Okay."

After he agreed, the two of you made your way up the stairs and into your apartment, with him looking around in fascination and you slipping your shoes off before setting your things on a table to the left. He placed his bag on the ground, leaving a few drops of water surrounding it.
