The soft click of a door closing barely hit your ears loud enough to wake you, but the thought of the previous night with Jungkook immediately flooded your mind, causing you to jump out of bed. You heard shuffling outside your door and heading down the hall as you grabbed your robe from a hook on the wall before wrapping it around your body and walking out.

"Jungkook?" You called for him while making your way to the front of your apartment, but froze once you saw his back to you with his hand in your bag that was still sitting on the table next to the front door.

He jumped, startled by you catching him, before jerking his hand back with the bag crashing to the floor with a thud then reaching for the handle. Luckily for you, and unlucky for him, you were quick to run and stand between him and the door, making sure he couldn't leave.

"Why were you in my bag?!" You questioned him, but he only huffed. "Answer me!" He turned away, avoiding eye contact, and it only made you madder. You reached to grab his arm and force him to look at you, but he ripped himself from your grasp and took a step backwards. You were caught off guard, but stood your ground regardless, remaining in the way of his exit with your arms now folded over your chest.

"Where you really about to steal from me?" You pursed your lips, waiting on his reply, but he remained quiet as usual. Each silent second that passed sent your blood boiling hotter. You felt stupid. You felt betrayed. And you couldn't deny you were disappointed because you actually thought he was a good kid, just in a terrible situation. "After I let you into my home and let you stay here, and you want to steal from me? How could you do that, Jungkook? I can't be-"

"I was hungry," he suddenly said, interrupting you with his voice so low you barely heard him, causing your mouth to hang open.

"What?" You said, voice suddenly calmer than before.

"I... was hungry. I'm sorry. Can I go now?" He shook his head. "I told you I didn't want to stay in the first place."

"Jungkook, if you were hungry, you could have just asked and I would ha-"

"No." He threw his hands up, chuckling defensively. "You wouldn't have done anything except feel sorry for me and only do something nice because it helps you sleep at night. Just like everyone else." It wasn't true. Not at all. You told yourself that, but you knew if you told him he wouldn't believe you either way.

"If you need something, just ask next time." You sighed, wondering what made you say next time. As if it were a usual thing between the two of you and he wasn't just staying for one night because it happened to be raining cats and dogs. "Just... stay put for a moment and let me get dressed. I want to take you somewhere."

You looked up at him, seeing him nod and his now clean hair fall in his eyes, making your gaze lower to his sweatshirt he had put back on, looking less dingy and just its usual grey color now, his jeans with stains, and black boots with the laces undone.

"Do you mean it?" Your eyes shot back up to his. "You're not going to try to leave as soon as I move from the door?"

He stared for a moment, then shook his head. "No. I'll stay." You smiled at him in your victory, then quickly made your way to get dressed before he actually did leave out of boredom.

You wondered when Jungkook had eaten last. You took him to your favorite diner, telling him to order anything he wanted off the menu, and when a plate of pancakes, eggs, and a pile of bacon and enough syrup to make your stomach ache just looking at it came to your table just for him, you couldn't help but watch with curious eyes as he nearly swallowed it all in one bite. He was starving, which made you less angry at him for trying to take things that didn't belong to him.
