The Hogwarts express ended its journey, and all the students got off. Harry, Ron, Teddy, Arra, and Neville stuck together in the crowd as they heard a loud and ragged voice shout "Firs' years wit me!" They all looked towards the voice and Harry instantly recognized, though he would be hard to forget, Hagrid.

They all walked ,well it might as well of been a run, to keep up with the crowd of first years as Hagrid lead them to the lake. They all got into boats ,Harry, Ron, and two other first years were in one boat. While Arra, Teddy, Neville and a first tear where in another.

While they were halfway out on the lake Neville, who was leaning over the side saying he saw something move below the water, fell out of the boat. Everyone laughed and you could tell he was embarrassed. And as Arra reached out her hand to pull him out of the water, she practically jumped into the lake! Everyone then turned their attention to her and erupted in laughter, all except Harry, and Teddy that is. Harry because they are his friends, Teddy because he now had to help get them back in the boat.

As Arra surfaced she yelled as loud as she could,"Merlin's beard this water is cold!!" She turned towards Neville who mouthed the words 'Thank you' and they both began to try and pull themselves back into the boat with Teddy's help.

When they were both back in the boat Hagrid had made his way toward them shouting "I know there's always one firs' year that gets wet, but two is a new one!" and offered his jacket to Arra and his over coat to Neville. Since it WAS very cold out that night, and since Arra and Neville were both shivering they graciously accepted.

As they approached the castles huge doors they saw a tall woman dressed in emerald green robes and her black hair done up in a bun. "I am Professor McGonnagal head of Gryffindor house. When we enter the castle I advise you be on your best behavior ,and do as told. You are going to be in a straight line and as I call your name you'll walk forward and sit on a stool then you will be sorted in one of the four houses. There is Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. While you are here your house will be like your family, good behavior will when your house points, but bad behavior will cause points to be taken away." As her speech ended the students began to form a straight line.

Before Professor McGonnagal began to lead them to the great hall a boy Harry recognized came up to him and said,"I believe I haven't introduced myself. I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." Ron snickered, and both Arra and Teddy suddenly grew very serious."Think my names funny do you?" Malfoy said turning to Ron who remained silent." No need to ask for your name. Red hair, and hand-me-down robes. You must be a Weasley." Malfoy said smugly. "I don't see what's bad about being a Weasley. Much better than being in your family might I say."Arra had come to the rescue. "I'd be quiet if I were you. I know all about your bloodline." Malfoy sneered, she turned deathly pale.

"And if you don't learn manners you'll have to learn how to eat without teeth!" Teddy got in Malfoy's face and looked ready to murder him. He ignored the threat and turned back to Harry.

"You'll soon find out that other wizard families are better than others. I can help you with that." Malfoy held out his hand expecting Harry to shake it. But Harry made no movement.

"I think I'll do just fine on my own thank you." He said to him. Before Malfoy could respond McGonnagal came back and ushered all of them into the great hall. Leaving no more time to talk.

All were amazed with the wonderful hall with big four tables representing a house. And the star-light ceiling that seemed as if you could see the heavens if you stare long enough. "It's charmed. To look like the sky. I read about it in Hogwarts, A History." They heard Hermione say.

Then the sorting began. The first was a girl named Susan Bones, who was sorted into HufflePuff the Hufflepuff table cheered loudly as they readily accepted the new student. "Black, Arra." McGonagall called. The whole great hall seemed to be holding their breath as Arra approached the stool and put the hat on her head. She sat there for a moment then the hat shouted "Gryffindor!"
Unlike the other girls sorting, no one clapped for her. The Gryffindors seemed absolutely shocked, though so did Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, the Slytherins were livid. As if they were just forbidden something they know they deserved. Arra still sat on the stool in shock until McGonagall told her to go sit down, still no one clapped. Until Teddy began to clap, followed by Neville, Harry, Ron, and Hermione. The next thing you know, all the first years were hollering and clapping for Arra. Although the Gryffindors were clearly unhappy about her being in their house, she still walked proudly to a seat at Gryffindor table.
