Stone was a strange, old dog. He was nice, but mostly quiet and often kept to himself. Everyone left him be, and respected him greatly.
Although he mostly kept to his den, when he was out, he'd give Jake weird looks. Was... there something wrong with him?

"We need to get ForestGroup's help more then ever," Oscar observed worriedly. "But what about that deal Birch made with BloodGroup?" Daisy asked.
"Do you think it has something to do with the fact they haven't been in the city in a while?"
"If they live in the forest," Jake suddenly spoke up, pausing from his meal with Spring, Thorn, and Patch. "It shouldn't be surprising they're not in the city right?"
Oscar glanced at him and shook his head. "No, they don't mind the city that much. But what you say is true, they prefer the forest."
"Maybe I am just worrying," Oscar went on. "But ForestGroup is bigger then both our group and FierceGroup. If we had their help, we'd win this war immediately."
"Alare doesn't like city dogs," Patch muttered. The three dogs he was eating with glanced at him in surprise. There was a dark look in Patch's brown eyes, but he said nothing else.
The rest of the meals were very awkward.
'Why does every one seem to have secrets?' Jake wondered.
Tomorrow would be the day of the final battle, and Jake hoped he was ready for it.
