"Walk." the mystery blonde dude ordered in a whisper.
I obeyed, even though I still felt stiff all over. I clenched my jaw as I tried not to think about being an actual 'The Walking Dead'.
"Relax," he furrowed his eyebrows. "Do you need to go to the bathroom?"
"What? Why?"
"You look constipated." The nerves of this guy, I swear.
I changed the subject. "So before I bombard you with every serious question I can think of about our situation, I'd like to ask you a simple one to start us off."
"And that is...?"
"What's your name?" I said, gazing at the people we were passing by.
"Reminediel." he declared after staring at me for quite a while.
"... Not as simple as I thought..." I sighed, thinking for a second. "Well, from now on, I'll just call you Rey. And when people ask who you are, you'll tell them you're Reymond. Is that alright with you?"
"I was in need of a mortal name, anyway."
"Great!" I looked up at him, and met his hazel eyes with my dark ones. "Now for one of the official questions: What are you?"
"I'm an Angel of the Lord." Reminediel's eyes glowed an electric blue, and in an instant, they were back to those multicolored state.
"Those are real?" I was taken aback.
"Very much so." Rey nodded.
"But aren't you a little too big to perch on my shoulder with your harp and all that jazz?" I teased a bit to calm myself down. If Angels exist, then wouldn't that mean other supernatural beings did, too?
"You humans can be entirely annoying sometimes," he glared at me. "We Angels are soldiers, not some winged babies in diapers."
Before I could stop myself, I imagined this grown angel-man next to me in diapers and tiny artificial wings. And like the pristine lady that I was, I full-on snorted.
"This is not of laughing matter!"
"You're right," I cleared my throat.
His eyes lingered on me longer, like he was thinking of scolding me more, but ultimately just moved on. "You should get changed."
We stopped at one of the clothing stores near us. I began to walk inside, then stopped as I realized something.
"What is it now?" Rey furrowed his eyebrows. If he kept this up, he'd form a wrinkle there by the end of the week.
"I... don't have any money on me."
The angel felt around his trench coat until he found a wallet. He opened it up, and revealed a big wad of cash and multiple credit cards. "Will these help in any way?"
"Damn, you celestial beings really know how to pick your vessels properly." I stared at the wallet in awe. With our financial problem solved, we finally went inside the shop.
I took a maroon crop top, a pair of black jeans, and nude sandals. There wasn't much of a line, so we got out pretty quickly. We then stopped at McDonald's. But Angels didn't eat, so Rey just watched me like a creepy date; I ate enough for both of us. I went to the restroom after to change clothes.
"We need a safe place to stay." Rey said as I got out.
"I think I know where we can go. And then you answer my questions."
