“Please… I-I love you!” A lost hope set in his chest like a stone as he realized those words would do nothing here.
My only sunshine….
“Look… I'm sorry, I can’t be with you anymore..” Tears threatened to spill from her eyes as she turned her back on her Norwegian lover so he couldn't see.
You make me happy
“All because of something someone said?”
When skies are gray
“No… Because I have to leave. My family is moving away.”
You'll never know dear,
“W-What?” The Norwegian was taken aback. “We could make it work, I know we could!”
How much I love you
“I can't tether you down! W-What if you need someone else… Someone who can be there... I don't want you to stay loyal to someone across the sea!”
Please don't take
The girl was now crying and the Norwegian knew that there was nothing he could do. He let his heartbreak consume him, and he began to zone out, ignoring her cries.
My sunshine
“Goodbye my love… We leave for America tonight,” The girl turned to face him, “this is goodbye in more ways than one.”
Away…
The girl left the Norwegian standing there in shock. He wanted to persue her but… he knew not to. This would be the last time he saw her.
And he knew one thing:
That there will never,
Never,
Be a replacement for her….

.
But now, time’s have changed.
A new girl was able to see past his emotionless facade, into his broken heart.
Despite many attempts to push her away the girl stayed, her touch so gentle and her eyes so caring.
She didn't give up on him.
She kept him from giving up on himself.
And now Lukas sat there, craddling his sleeping lover in his arms.
The Norwegian looked at his new lover in his arms and smiled a rare smile only for her.
“You are my sunshine…
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are grey
You'll never know dear
How much I love you…
Please don't take my sunshine away”
He paused, then planted a kiss on her forehead.
“Sleep well Zoe, my sunshine.”
