“I’'M SO sorry.” She said softly, kindly, sympathetically, and I cringed.

“I’m kind of...” I tried, and she inhaled sharply.

‘I’m so sorry, Bella. I know this is hard.’

Just say it.

She put her hands up like a victim with guns trained on him, and spoke tenderly, with exaggerated slowness. I heard the fear in her voice, but it was soon replaced my mine.

“You’re kind of... fiction.”

My mind spun. What?? I started to protest, but she held up her hand.

“I know it’s hard. I would be shocked too. But it’s not a bad thing. See, in my world, a woman named Stephanie Meyer has written a series. The first is Twilight; the second is New Moon, the third Eclipse, and the fourth Breaking Dawn. They have been converted into movies, and Breaking Dawn, the fourth book, was split into two movies.”

This again? I didn’t really mind the obsession, but this again, now?

“Yes, but what does that have to do with me?” I pinched the bridge of my nose, exasperated.

“You really are Bella, aren’t you? Wow. How...?” She observed, and I sighed, miffed.

“I don’t KNOW! I think I deserve an explanation first, don’t I? Please, pray tell me. I don’t understand.” I snapped. “What is going on?”

“Twilight, the first book, is about a girl called Isabella Marie Swan, but likes being called Bella, who moves to Forks, Washington, to live with her father Charlie Swan, and falls in love with a vampire called Edward Cullen.” Sanya said quietly, and I blinked, surprised. I suppose I should have seen that coming, but whatever I had predicted, I had not expected this. I wish Alice was here.

That’s when I realized she was lying.

She groaned. “I’m NOT lying! How do you think I know so much about you? Why do you think I love you do much? You’ve noticed it, haven’t you? The obsession, the knowledge, the feeling? You’ve questioned it all, but the problem is, you won’t believe me when I say that I’m TELLING THE TRUTH! I swear! I swear on Twilight, and I NEVER lie when I swear on Twilight!”

I considered that. I could see the truth in her words, and more importantly, her thoughts. She didn’t SEEM to be lying.

“It’s just a trick. I’ve fallen for more convincing things before, and you can’t be serious to just waltz in here and tell me I’m a character in a book. Send me back. You don’t know what you’re doing. Edward will find me, and-“

She ignored my words for the most part, because she heard my internal battle of thoughts.

“I hope he does.” She interrupted sadly. “For your sake, Bella, I really, really hope he comes and gets you. I’m so sorry.”

I was taken aback. If there’s anything I expected, once again, she surprised me. I didn’t think she could be bad after her most recent words, which were all sincere – I could see that.

“See? I’m NOT the bad guy!” She tried.

‘What if this is just an illusion, and I only hear – in terms of thoughts – what you want me to hear? So your thoughts aren’t really very highly credible?”
