The girl didn't need to climb the gate, or jump over a wall...it was too easy.

She pushed the gates open with her gentle hands, slipping inside.

Her vision was worsening. And a ringing in her ears...

She darted amongst the shadows, from one to another. She ducked under the beckoning arms of the sullen trees, darting among the ivory stones. She moved softly over the grasses under which the dead lay, unmoving and cold.

She stopped at a white stone, a marble headstone resting under a dark, willowy tree. The willow didn't beckon towards her like the others; it stood, bent over, like it too was strained from the horror of human life.

The girl pushed off her jacket, and sat down. Leaning back against the cool stone, she examined her white arms in the moonlight.

Ruined.

Demolished.

Gone.
