I slip the orange dress Id purchased from the mall yesterday over my head and pulled my freshly blowdried and slightly pressed hair from under it. I examine the dress in the mirror and shift from side to side. It was well worth the thirty bucks. It was more on the cute side than sexy and the loose fabric still showed each and every feature of my body in a family friendly way.
"Wow I've never seen you wear something so conservative." Sheena teased. I laughed and sat down on my bed and began slipping on a pair of sandals I'd also made it my duty to purchase. "I know right, I'm going to be around family and stuff so I don't want to show to much skin."
"Explain to me why your doing this again?" Curiosity dripped from her voice and he laughed when I paused and had to think about my answer.
"Well I just feel bad."
"Umhm, is it you feel bad or just he makes you feel good?"
I reach over and hit her. "Shut up." We sit and joke around for a few more minutes before I check the clock and it a five minutes past two o'clock. "Wish me luck." I tease while proceeding to the door.
"Have fun mother Mary."
I laugh again before leaving the room and making my way down the hallway. When I step out the club sunlight hits my skin and in a warming and tingly way and I spot Chresanto's car parked across from me in the parking lot. The car slowly starts backing out of the parking spot and pulls up to me. I open the door and am greeted with a highly irritable but handsome Chresanto wearing a navy blue button up polo, a pair of jeans, and as far as I can see gucci loafers? "Well hello Mr. Money." I tease hopping to hieghten his mood.
He rolls his eyes and keeps his face forward. "Just put on your seat belt."
Alrighty then.
The ride like most of our rides, was silent for the first 20 minutes before I turned on the radio. "Ooo this is my song." Two on by Tinishae is playing and I turn it up a few more notches and start singing out. A few seconds into my song the radio cuts of and in comes Chresanto's party pooping ways. "Don't touch my radio."
"Awe come on, don't be like that." I build up some nerve and reach out to turn it back in but my hand is roughly grabbed and shoved back to myself.
"You're so rude its disgusting."
"Your the one who fucking touched my radio!"
"Christ we were sitting here in silence, I just wanted to cut the tension. Geez."
The silence is back and there's really no escaping it like I was able to the other night. I'm forced to sit here and endure the tension through out the rest of the two hour drive.
When we finally get there I let myself out the car hurriedly and wait for Chresanto to do the same before following behind him to the front step of the house. The house looked pretty average which surprised me totally. After being in Chres's apartment I was under the impression that this was an entirely rich family, and when I think of rich I don't think of average two story house in average neighborhood. When he gets to the front door he holds his hand out to me but I keep my arms crossed, still upset about the car incident.
"Really Crystal, just grab my god damned hand."
"Why should I when your always so damn rude to me?"
"Oh my god, Don't do this here."
"Well what'd you--"
The door flew open and a familiar sweet old woman greets us both with a grin and a hug. "Oh it is so nice to see you, Vannessa the family has been dying to meet you." Debra, who I learn her name to be is drastically dressed down and is just wearing a pair of denim capri's and a dressy tank top.
