six weeks since i've been away

now you're saying everything has changed

and i'm afraid that i might be losing you

"hello?" luke picks his phone up, voice cracking.

"luke," her voice fills his ears, making him tear up. he hasn't heard her voice in a week and it felt soothing to finally hear her voice.

"god, i missed you," luke breathed out.

"me too," she said, hiccuping, voice trembling as well.

"is everything alright? are you crying?"

"i just..." she pauses, taking a deep breath in. "i miss you so much and it's only been 6 weeks since you've been away. this is the first time i heard your voice in a week."

"i know. i'm sorry, enna. i'm busy with recording and stuff, and you're busy with school and projects."

"yeah, i see that," enna replies, closing her eyes as she threw her head back, hitting the wooden headboard. it hurt, but not as much as how her heart hurts with luke being halfway across the world from her. "everything has changed, luke. from talking on the phone to actually talking about how our day went. you're halfway across the world from me, luke. i miss you so fucking much."

"i know that, enna. but everything's gonna work out, remember? we made a promise to each other to make this work while i'm away," luke says. "it's gonna work out."

"i don't know..."

"enna, believe me, okay?" luke says, running a hand through his hair, not knowing what to say to convince his girlfriend to stay. "i don't wanna be afraid that i might be losing you."

sienna sighs and tucks herself under her duvet and listens to the silence between her and luke.

"hey, sienna," luke whispers through the phone.

"mhmm?"

"what time is it there?"

"3 in the morning," sienna shrugs.

"why are you still awake at this time? you still have school."

"i couldn't sleep."

"get some rest, babe. i'll talk to you in the morning, alright?"

"alright."

"i love you so much, enna. please don't forget that."

"i won't."

"i love you."

"i love you too." enna hangs up and plugs her phone to charge. she ends up not sleeping, instead, looking up at the ceiling, trying to convince herself that everything will work out.

luke slips his phone into his pocket and walks out of the dressing room, starting to put on the earplugs for the show about to start in 10 minutes.

"it's gonna work out," luke reassures himself.
