Chapter 1: It's A Beautiful Day In Britannica City

Interlude:

Hey everyone! I'm the author of the new Magical Enforcer novel. You can call me Mr. Zeros or my pen name Mr. Triumph, either way, I'm glad that you spent your time reading my new novel!.

This is the first time ever I write something like this and I enjoy every single time I spent my energy to think about a new chapter that I will publish and crafted in a form of words. Words like magic, machine, and alternative history are one of my favorite things in fantasy fiction. That is why creating a new story of a historical fantasy becomes a dream of mine to be realized.

Writing Magical Enforcer is a hard thing to do as my English is not my first language. Lots of editing, re-writing, and revision were done so they can deliver the story with a quality that anyone can enjoy. But I thought writing this story in English is a just thing to do as they are set in a world which inspired by British industrial revolution in Victorian era. Of course, I'm also want to write it in my native language as I also want people from my homeland can enjoy it without having to translate each chapter I publish.

That is why I thank you with all my heart for giving your time to read my story

"No dead man can escape the living justice"

1864, summer

06.42 am

The beautiful and ever city of Britannica,

A Home for the thousands of masters of magic and machine,

A city filled with blood and sweats from the people that work to fill the stomach of their own families,

A place where the highest royalty and nobility live together in the same neighborhood with the lowest people in society,

And where the towering black pillars of iron started to paint the blue colored sky into a dark black with never-ending poisonous smokes

The industrialization era that was started in 1810 turned Britannica into a giant industrial city complex. A new machinery, called the Vapor Machina, changed the way of the Kingdom's perception of mass production. And the result of it is the change of the city's landscape into a densely crowded place filled with thousands of factory's labor. Many of those laborers are living in poverty as they're working with a low wage that can't fill their needs. With a crude and unforgiving place to work, they can only hope that their hard work will be paid off one day.

But that doesn't mean there is no time to enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, and a pair of toasted bread loaf in a morning on breakfast shop. Many of those laborers choose to gather here to enjoy their day first with chatting and exchange information with each other. In the harshest place like Britannica, this is probably one of the little spots where they can enjoy their peaceful time before starting the day.

Well, sadly, not all of them have the same mind

Without any warning, a loud sound of an explosion can be heard across the street near those relaxing laborers. A two man in a clown mask was just exploded a mana infused dynamite inside a closed small jewelry store. They forcefully break its safety box and started filling their bag with any jewels they can find in the store's display. The peoples in the neighborhood know what they saw, a robbery. A usual crime activity in Britannica that lately been operated by this two masked clown.

After they have finished collecting the jewels they need, one of the robbers who stand guard outside the store start to pulls out a magic wand from his pocket and direct it to the people that close to them. He tries to warn anyone near them to step back as they trying to make their way to escape. The situation is getting intense for the peoples around and the masked robbers.
