((I'd recommend reading the description first ^_^))

You walk around for a while and eventually find a decent spot to sit. In the town's only park, with its soft, lush grass, trees and benches. You sit there for a while, losing track of time as you sit in the sun as it warms your face. Ow! You turn around looking for the culprit who stepped on your tail. I forgot to mention you have a tail and ears. You have the ears of a lynx and the tail of a dog, and the jerk who stepped on your tail, that's Lionel Marshall, your best friend since you were two years old, he's got horse ears and a lion tail. Lionel smiles at you smugly and you smile back, there was no way you could be mad at him. Everyone in your town has a human body with ears and tails of different kinds. Lionel offers his hand to you, you grab his hand and he helps you up. "What are you doing sitting out here all alone?" He asks you. "Well, I was sunbathing until some guy stepped on my tail."
Lionel scratches his chin, "Hmm, did you catch his face?" He asks you pretending to not know what happened. "Yeah, I'm still looking at him." You reply, laughing at Lionel and yourself, Lionel joins in with you. Suddenly, his face becomes more serious as he looks just above the wall. "Do you ever wonder what's on the other side of those twenty-foot walls?" He asks. You start brushing off the dirt and grass you realize are on your clothes, "Yea, probably too much honestly, you know how it goes 'curiosity killed the cat' and I'm not looking to be dead just yet" you say to him. A small smile creeps on his face, "But really do you ever wish to leave?"  He said as if there something more going on in his mind. "No, what if there are scary monsters out there or something." You say. "Scary... monsters? Are you two years old?"
"I'm just saying, imagine what it's like, a whole new world, where everything could be completely different. What if the trees aren't purple, what if they're like... I don't know, green or something? What if the beings out there are so different and don't accept us?"  He wouldn't look at you. He looked as if he was somewhere else. "Do you really want to leave that badly?"
Lionel didn't look so happy anymore. Did you say something wrong? He looked at the ground "I don't like it here, I mean don't get me wrong I love spending time with you, but I don't want to be restricted into such a small area... I think I'm gonna head home." He says. You both stand up and you give him a hug. He stands there, his arms lifeless, just hanging by his side. You let him go and look into his eyes as one last time before he turns and leaves.
You look around and realize how dark it has gotten. You can't see anything, you're stranded in a sea of pure darkness. You soon realize you're not alone. Footsteps. You look around, but it's no use there's no light whatsoever. You feel a presence behind you, but you are too scared to turn around. Heavy breathing. Is it you or the other being? "Lionel, I swear to god if that's you..." A heavy hand rested itself on your shoulder. "You shouldn't be out here." A deep voice spoke to you. An unfamiliar one at that. "Yes, I know, it's just, it's very dark out here and I can't see, so I can't necessarily find my way home." He let out a sigh, "You should've gone home when there was still light." He seemed disappointed in you as if he knew who you were and thought you could have a better decision. He put his hand on your back and began walking pulling you along with him. There was really nothing you could do to stop him and plus he seemed nice enough to help you. "Which home is yours?" This startled you. That was kind of an odd question, but you supposed he's probably helping home.  "Uh, I live in house 36." He said nothing.
After what felt like forever, he said, "Watch your step." You felt stairs and then heard a knock. A door opened and lighted flooded into the streets. You saw your mother, she looked like she had been crying. She ran out and hugged you "I was so worried about you!" You thought this was rather dramatic. What could she have possibly been so worried about? "Mama, I wasn't gone for that long past dark."
"I know, but I was scared anyway, I know how dark it gets out there." She looked up at the guard who escorted you home. The light revealed a smiling face. A man with black floofy hair, scruffy facial hair, and dark brown (almost black) eyes. He was dressed in a formal black uniform, different from the usual midnight blue uniforms the usual guards had. Your mother looked at the man, "Thank you..."
"Mark, Mark Fisher. But just Mark is fine"
"Thank you, Mark"
"Yes, thank you"
He tipped his hat at us "Good night." He said to us as he walked away with a cheerful smile on his face.
Why would Lionel want to leave? You ask yourself as you put on the sweatshirt that you always wear to bed and pajama pants. You lay down in your bed and try to sleep. But it was impossible. The same questions and thoughts repeating in your head Why would he want to leave? Would he leave? Who would I talk to if he was gone? I really don't want him to leave. I hope I see him tomorrow. Suddenly, there was a knock on your window, you sat up and turned around, looking out the window. Lionel is sitting there with a flashlight. You open the window, "Come on!"
"What?"
"Let's go!"
He grabs your hand and pulls you towards him and holds you bridal style for a few seconds before letting you stand on your own feet. "What are you doing?"
"We are leaving this place."
"No, Lionel I already told you I don't want to leave, what's your issue anyway, why do you want to leave so badly?"
"I just want to see more of the world and I don't like it here anyway."
"But why?"
"IT BRINGS BACK MEMORIES, OKAY!"
You both went silent. "What kind of memories...?" You say quietly. "I was bullied here, I lost both my parents here, there's nothing good about this place."
"I'm in this place, aren't I good?" you ask him. He looks at you with a warm face "That's why I want you to come with me, you're the only good thing I have." He says. "But what about my mom, she was already worried about me when I was only a few minutes late yesterday, she'd have a heart attack if I left in the middle of the night and didn't come back, I can't do that to her."
"Well, you leave me no choice." He picks you up and you can't fight him, he's too strong, he's had to be he lost so much, he's built up strength to get by. "PUT ME DOWN!" You start kicking and punching, trying so hard to escape his hold.
