"You wouldn't listen to me I had no choice, I can't lose you." You stop fighting. You stop yelling. There was no point he was too strong. He carries you for a long time as he checks the doors until one of the doors push open. What? Did they leave a door open? He carefully opens the door and looks from side to side and sees a man and quickly shuts his flashlight off. You hear only the movement of another body, "What are you doing, boy?" Mark? His deep voice vibrates your entire body. He shines a light at Lionel and sees him holding you. His eyes widen and he tries to quickly save you from him, but Lionel's instincts are too sharp and quick. Mark lunged toward him attempting to stop him, but Lionel started running away. You see Mark chasing after you. "No, stop please! It's such an unforgiving place out there, they won't accept you!" He calls out, you reach your hand out in a desperate attempt for him to save you. But you're officially too far away for him to save you.
Now you're stranded in a strange world. Plus what Mark said scaring you, they won't accept you. You're different out here. What if you can't fit in out here. How is he running for so long? You find yourself whizzing past trees, but you can't be sure because Suddenly your body hits the ground. It's dark but you can make out Lionel's body, he's out cold. Now is your chance you need to find your way back. It's so dark, which way do you go. You start walking in a direction that you think is the way back, tripping over sticks and logs, making your way around and through trees. Your beginning to think you're not going the right way. It doesn't feel right. You're walking and walking through brush and trees until, almost all at once, you're in an open space. Completely stranded. No guide, no cover, you're alone. You're not even standing on grass or dirt anymore. You're on pavement. A road? Hey, it's a start, might as well follow it, you're not finding your way back to your town anyway. Maybe you can find somewhere to stay for the night. A nice warm bed sounds nice right about now, or even a couch, just something. You walk to the top of a hill and as you reach the top you see the lights of a town not a big one, but not a small one either. Perfect! You start walking towards the town. But you freeze in your tracks. You realize something. This town isn't surrounded by walls. That means these people are free to leave as they please.
You keep walking, hoping to make it there before your body tires completely and you end up like Lionel. By the time you reach the edge of the town your feet are dragging. As you walk further into the town you see people quickly making their way into their homes. You walk toward an older man and ask him where you are, he looks at you, his eyes widen. You realize he doesn't have ears or a tail, you are different out here. You throw your hands on top of your head and press your ears down. But this won't stop you from finding a place to stay. You pull your hood over your ears and tuck your tail in your pants. You need to find somewhere to stay. You see a white house with deck light on, they must be awake, you ask yourself Will they let me in? You knock on the door. A man on the other side opens the door cautiously, he seemed relieved yet shocked to see you. He quickly grabs you and pulls you into his home. "Don't you know there's a curfew, I'm just saying people who stay out past the curfew, go somewhere with the guards. And I don't recall ever seeing them come back." He lets out a sigh. "Uh, take a seat," he scratches the back of his neck, "Make yourself at home." He walks into the kitchen and begins cutting up something. You awkwardly go to sit down on his couch. With your hood still on your ears. As you sit down you winch in pain, you're sitting on your tail, you had never had to endure this pain before, and it was horrible. "A-are you okay?"
"Y-yeah." You manage to say through the pain. "What's wrong?" He asks you. "Uh, it's nothing, I just hurt my tailbone." You tell him, trying to cover the truth. "Oh," he says.
He looks up at you again, "Do you want to take your hood off?" You can tell he's uncomfortable, but is trying to be a good host. You fake a smile "Uh, no I'm good." He comes from the kitchen and sits down next to you. You can tell how shy he is, you smile to yourself. He looks at your hood, he asks "D-do you want to take your hood off?" He reaches for the back of your hood. You smack his hand out of instinct. His hand quickly retracts to his body and your flare red, and your hands fly to your face and cover your mouth. "I'm so sorry" you say as a tear rolls down your face. You are truly and deeply sorry and your scared, your in an entirely new place, with a random person who is different from you, someone who couldn't possibly the fear you are going through right now. He stands up and walks towards with his arms open, "Hey, it's okay." Is he going to hug you? Who does he think he is? You've barely even met this man. You begin to walk backwards. Where did the shy guy go? He continues to walk towards you. This is getting weird. Suddenly, your hood is ripped from your head, your ears exposed. You can't hold it in, you pretty much explode in his face, "That's rude and disrespectful! You can't just invade someone like that! Do you have any respect for a girl's privacy?" He stands there, in front of you, shocked, he doesn't know what to do. Your not sure if he's shocked at you yelling, or the fact that your ears are now exposed. With tears streaming down your face you race to the door not caring if your ears are out, or if people will see them, you need to get out of here.
As your hand is but inches away from the door handle, you hear a knock from the other side. You quickly pull your hand away and run past the kitchen and living room, into the hallway and around the corner. You watch as the man opens the door. You see Mark standing there, and all you can do is gasp.
