“You have really hurt me Nora.” I glare at the man in front of me. The one who has caused me so many problems for the past month. Jonathon. I was heading out to town to get my monthly vitamins for my pregnant self when Jonathon’s men forced me into a car. I was now sitting in his hotel room. I was scared as to what he would do with me. He knew damn well that I helped Noah’s family escape and he just lost his only leverage.
“I have no idea what you are talking about.” I say to him. Jonathon bangs on the hotel desk and I flinch. At least he wasn’t taking it out on my face. The man looked tired and desperate.
“Well, I haven’t lost everything. I can just use you. Noah would not want you to get hurt.” He says. I almost die on the inside. I keep my face clear of any emotion. I even smile. This lie would have to be a good.
“Well that is just a waste because Noah and I are no longer together.” I say. Jonathon rubs his chin and he shakes his head with a smirk on his face.
“I don’t think so. A little birdy told me you were pregnant. Noah wouldn’t leave you.” He says. I was shocked. How the hell did he know about that. I look down at my stomach.
“How did you know?” I ask quietly. Jonathon takes a seat across from me.
“I have ways to look at medical test.” He says. So Jonathon caught my lie. I never thought of myself as leverage and know it was too late. I was sure Jonathon would make in known to Noah that I was in his possession.
“Well, I have some business to take care of.” He says and then stands up. Jonathon smiles and he points at all the walls. “No windows. No escape.” He says. The man then leaves. I groan and sit back in the chair. What kind of hotel had no windows? I go over to my bag that I carried with me and rifle through it. Jonathon was dumb enough to not search and so my cell phone was inside. The battery was almost dead. I had multiple missed calls from my father and a few text from Nina.
I had no other choice but to call my father for help. He could send someone and call other authorities. This was my life and also my unborn child’s life. I couldn’t die and I wanted Noah to be free. I dialed his number and he quickly answered.
“Nora. Where on earth are you? Noah is waiting.” He says into the phone. He sounds panicked and concerned.
“Dad—I-someone took me. Jonathon. Noah knows what I’m talking about. I am in some hotel. I’m scared.” I say to him. I said it very fast and I was afraid that he didn’t understand me.
“What? Nora I—.” That was when the call dropped. I looked at my phone and the screen was black. My phone just died. I ran a hand through my hair and shoved my phone back in my bag. I paced the room and even opened the door, but as soon as I did open in, two guys greeted me. I smiled at them.
“Any chance you’ll let me go?” I say. They look at each other and laugh.
“As cute as you are, I don’t want to die.” One of them says. I sigh and they push me back into the room and then shut the door. If my father didn’t come soon, God only knows what would happen to me.
After a while something occurs to me. I have a gun in my bag too. In Mississippi you were allowed to carry a weapon with you. It just couldn’t be showing. I took out the gun and clicked off the safety. I could force the two men on the ground and then knock them out maybe. It was worth a try. I put the gun in the waistband of my jeans and walk over to the door. I open it and the guys are there and they smile at me again. I take a step out which was a step closer to them.
