Dylan at the top

London's POV

Having your birthday at the end of the school year has got to be the worst part of high school. I'm in the 11th grade, a Junior, and I'm still not used waiting until after school is over to become a year older. Like right now we're in English and they're singing 'Happy Birthday' to Aliador. She's just turned 17 years old while I'll be 16 for another month and a half. I fake smile at her and turn around to talk to my best friend.

"This isn't fair" I say pouting up at Dylan. He just laughs. "Nothings ever fair if it isn't in your favor, is it?" He says sarcastically. "Hahaha" I mock him. "Very funny, see if I ever agree with you again in a table argument." He just laughs louder.

Tyler walks over at the noise. "What's so funny?" he asks. "London's upset his birthday is in July." Dylan answers, laughing harder. "You're such children" he says, and that's how he and Dylan get in an argument about how Tyler is only 19, two years older than him, and they're almost the same height.

"You're like two inches taller!"

"And I could still kick your ass"

By now they're both standing and Ms. Walsh is trying to quiet down the class. I sit back in my seat still upset. The bell's about to ring in a minute so I start packing up my bag even though Ms. Walsh doesn't like that. She sees me and before the bell could fully ring I hear my name being called. "Mr. Knightly, I know you aren't packing up to leave, are you? Why don't you spend lunch with me London" I sigh and get up without my bag since I have to come back to the classroom.

I meet up with Tatyana in the lunch line and go to make my way back to English. "You got in trouble?" Tatyana asks. "Yea, with Ms. Walsh. Now I'm spending lunch with her." I explain. "Got it. I'll explain to the others. See ya later London" She smiles at me as she goes to our reserved table with the others looking confused. I see her sit and start talking and they stop watching me.

Ms. Walsh isn't in the classroom when I get there, but I sit there anyway as to not put myself in even more trouble. Not to long after I sit down Lucas' friend Kacey walks in. "Oh my, the Kacey has gotten in trouble with a teacher?" I gasps in mock offence. "Uh, No. I chose to eat with Ms. Walsh" he says. "Of course he did." I mumble under my breath. There's no way any of Lucas' friends would ever be in trouble. "I'm assuming that's why you're in here?" he asks. "Yup" I answer.

There's a long awkward pause after that until Ms. Walsh decides to announce her presence. "Oh good, you showed up." she smiles at Kacey. Of course she wasn't talking about me. She probably wasn't expecting me to come back. "Yup, what is it you needed Ms. Walsh?" he asks and I feel as if I was listening in on a private conversation. "Well I need to know if you would talk to your friends about also joining the program" I sit up "What program? Is it for extra credit?" I ask. Lord knows me and my friends need extra credit in her class.

"Actually, yes it is. You want to sign up?" she asks.

"Where do I sign up?" I say excited.

"Ms. Walsh, I don't think that's a good--"

"Right here." she says equally excited as she hands me a packet.

"I still don't think this is a good--"

"You can sign your friends up too. You all could use the extra credit and I need more people" she says.

"Yup, I surely will."

"This is great!" she exclaims.

"Ms. Walsh, I--"

"And Kacey you can sign up your friends"

"But Ms. Walsh I really don't think this is a good idea" Kacey says worryingly. "Because our friends don't get along". Well he isn't wrong.

"Nonsense, you're friends with his twin, aren't you?" she asks. I grimace at the word 'twin'.

"Yes, but--"

"Then its settled. You all with be attended our first field trip."

"Where are we going?" I ask with a smirk.

"Into the wild." She says with a smile. Its then that I stop smiling at Kacey's pained face. "But didn't he die." I ask, a little put off. She just laughs while Kacey face palms. The girls won't be too happy about this, and to be quite honest, neither will the guys. Ughh.

School is over and I'm waiting on my ride home, Lucas. I've pushed off telling my friends about the field trip. It isn't until next week anyway. Lucas is late, as per usual, so I try to avoid talking to my friends in hopes that they won't find out. I always wear my expression, and if they saw me worried Aliador would go snooping in a heartbeat to find out what I did. 'Could Lucas hurry up and come out of the building already?' Just as the thought crossed my mind here comes the tree.

"And just where have you been?" I ask.

"What does it matter? Let's just go already" he says, clearly annoyed.

I don't push him any further as he seems genuinely upset. We get into the car and it isn't until we're two minutes into the car ride that I speak up. "What's got your panties in a bunch?" I ask, worried he might've found out about the unintended field trip already. "Nothing" he says unconvincingly.  Knowing Kacey had to have already gave him a heads up, I proceed to apologize. "Listen, I don't want to go just as much as you don't want to go" I say honestly.

"What are you even talking about?" he asks. I know he has to know that I know he knows I know about him knowing but maybe he doesn't know. "Ms. Walsh's field trip we all have to go on?" I question. He continues to furrow his eyebrows and look confused. "Seriously what the hell are you talking about?" he seems even more confused than earlier on, which shouldn't be possible considering he knows exactly what I'm talking about. "All I'm saying is that I need the extra credit so I'm gonna go whether or not you also decide to attend." I state annoyed at his games.

"Why would I go anywhere with you"? Again with the games and pretending to not know what I'm talking about to avoid a subject. "Because your best friend signed you up, duh" "Melani?" "No. Kacey, you idiot. I'm sure he's explained this to you by now."

Now looking slightly less confused and a lot more agitated, he answers back more harsh than sarcastic "No, London, he hasn't." I don't respond for two reasons. One, I honestly thought he knew. Two, we're driving down our street.

He pulls over but doesn't drive up the driveway. Curious, I ask "Not coming in?" He just shakes his head. "Get out" he whispers. "You know I don't like being here with them by myself. Where are you going anyways?" I ask, only because I genuinely don't want to be left here with our parents. "Get out" he says louder. "Fine, but you'll be getting an earful from your mother when I let her know how you just dropped me off and left to who knows where" I say as I get out the car and slam the door.

The jerk doesn't even wait for me to back up before he's pulling off, almost running over my feet.

I make my way in the house closing and locking the door behind me. I make my way into the living room where I know they must be sitting, my parents, that is. Time to start up some drama.

So neither of my parents gave a flying squirrel about what Lucas was up to. In fact they even chastised me for not "being a teenager" and "hanging out" or "getting my drivers licences". What kind of crap is that. When I am out, its a problem. When I was 'being a teen', I was causing a problem. When I wanted to learn how to drive, I was being a problem.

I'm done being the problem here. Lucas is gonna pay for leaving me here with these dimwits.
