"Hey, jerk, you passed the house!"
Sam's voice snapped me out of my daze, and I quickly made to turn the car, a '67 Chevy Impala, around.
"Shit, I zoned out!"
"Seriously, you gotta pay attention, Dean. You don't wanna crash your Baby, do you?" Sam was teasing me, he knew how much I loved the car.
We pulled into the driveway, not paying much attention to the people coming out if the house beside ours to investigate. Let the people be curious. I opened my door and got out, going round to the trunk to grab some boxes. Not that we had many, but it would take a few minutes to get them all in.
"Hey, you want some help there?"
The voice was unfamiliar, and I turned to face whoever had spoken, unconsciously worrying at my lip ring. It was a habit.
He had messy, black hair, the only way to describe it would be sex hair. His eyes were blue, so blue I almost took a step back, shocked at their intensity. He must wear coloured contacts. No way could eyes be naturally th-
"Hello? I asked if you want any help?"
Right. The boy.
"Sorry, I'm Castiel Novak, I live next door and I noticed you had some boxes to put inside and was wondering if you want some help," he continued, stopping and waiting for me to reply.
"Yeah- no, I got this," I snapped, going back to transporting the boxes. "I don't need help. You can fuck off." I realise it was rude, but I doubted we would stay long, and while it was rare we stayed in an actual house, there was no point being friendly with somebody if you're going to abandon them in a month. No point at all.
The kid, Castiel, looked somewhat shocked before turning and walking off back over to his family, and I looked around for Sammy before seeing him talking to one of the kids next door.
"Sammy! Get over here and help me!" I yelled out to him, before retreating inside to put down my box.

Another car went past. I blinked. I really should've been trying to catch up on school work, but I instead had turned my gaze to the window, finding the cars more interesting than whatever I was meant to be doing.
A minute later, that same car drove past again, heading the opposite way. It pulled into the driveway next to mine, to a house that had previously been for sale. Guess it isn't anymore.
