Part 8
I did not want to go in there. I didn't know whether it was the grin on Renzo's face or the room in which he was telling me to come in, whatever it was my heart refused to take a step forward. Was it possible I could run away from here? But with Verde standing behind me, I doubted I would make it far.
"Come on in, sugarplum, don't make me wait. I don't have that much patience," Renzo said when he saw me rooted to my spot. "Stop scratching your wrist and come here." I didn't realize I was scratching my wrist. Did Renzo notice this behavior of mine or did he choose to be blind to it?
"Maybe it's time you exercised some patience, they do say patience is a virtue," I suggested, ignoring the trembling in my limbs as I wondered what awaited me inside that room.
The grin on Renzo's face disappeared. His green eyes hardened into emerald shards as he marched over to where I was standing and grabbed my arm.
"Did you forget who you are talking to? I rule the underworld and you are telling me to be virtuous?!" He chuckled darkly while shaking his head. "Either you are incredibly stupid or you just don't understand how dark our world really is."
"Yeah, I don't understand, and news flash, I don't want to understand!" I tried to wrench my arm out of his grasp but he only tightened his hold on me. "I just want you to let me go; that way you won't have to bother with explaining to me just how dark your world really is."
Renzo laughed out loud before he fixed me with his glare. "It's a little late for that, don't you think? I've already decided that you are not leaving until this mess with the Borronis is over. And even after I kill every last one of them, I will kill you at the end."
"Why would you kill me? What did I do? I am innocent. I have a life to get back to; it's not like no one will miss me after I die," I stated.
"Ah yes, there is that wonderful grandmother of yours. But if I kill her..." he trailed off, even if he hadn't I wouldn't have allowed him to speak another word.
"Don't you dare talk about my grandmother, you monster! I will destroy you with my bare hands." Now it was my turn to glare at him.
"Then behave yourself." He pulled me closer to him. "I've got my men watching over your grandmother and if you push me over the edge then I will have her killed, and I don't care what you do about it."
It was at this moment that I wished I had some sort of a weapon which I could use to hit him on the head with. I hated him so much. How could he stand here and talk about killing an innocent woman.
Without waiting for my reply, Renzo dragged me towards the door, which contained all the horrors behind it. I wondered what he would do to me. I knew he was going to hurt me but how was he going to do it that was a mystery.
"Where are you taking me? Let me go!" Either he was deaf or he just didn't care about what I said. The latter was the likely possibility because this bastard had ears, ears which worked far too well.
"I told you before, you will entertain me now and I will not rest until I get my entertainment," Renzo stated before giving me a rough push causing me to fall on the floor.
I hissed when my arm scraped the hard floor, looking at it to see drops of blood peeking out from the broken skin. Fuck me, he made me bleed; what more was he intending to do with me?
Before I could ask him the questions screaming in my mind, I took a look around the dreadful place Renzo had brought me to. It looked as if this room was used to keep people in solitary confinement. I'd never seen a room so small. The ceiling looked to be around six and a half feet high while the total length of the room couldn't have been more than six feet. A lone fluorescent light was the only thing illuminating the room.
