"Then let's go on a date." Ben said, confidently. "Molly and Vera are asleep, we could-" "Are you insane?" I cut off his rambling words. "It's midnight, what place is open?" I giggled slightly, Ben just smirked, as if he already knew what we could do. "Please? I promise it'll be worth it." He wrapped his arm around my waist, standing us both up, and pulling me closer to himself. I rolled my eyes, and looked amiss as I answered. "Fine, let's sneak out, lover boy." I giggled again, softly. He locked his eyes with mine for only a second, and then he dragged me out of my own house. We walked for almost an hour, down the dimly lit streets of our small city, only the street lights illuminating the cobble pathways and train tracks around us. It was nearly one in the morning, and I was beginning to wonder is Ben even knew where we were going. "How much further?" I asked him, gripping his wrist tightly, alerting him I didn't feel safe. "Not very much. It's okay, y'know, I won't let anything happen to you." He moved my hand from his wrist and into his hand. I didn't pull away or hesitate, I knew I was safer around him than I was normally. We walked for another while, until we got to an open field between two sets of train tracks. It was so clear there. No trees or anything in the way of the star-lit sky, and it was quiet too, since trains in our town stop running at eleven PM. "I know you love all this star shit.." Ben mumbled. "How-" I cut myself off. "Molly?" He nodded, and we sat in the middle of the field. I was pointing out constellations for a long while, then looked over realise that Ben had fallen asleep. I didn't wake him up, but I took off my sweater and laid it over him. Then I laid on Ben, and mumbled "Best first date ever." as I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up looking at the sky. I didn't realise I slept outside. I tried to sit up, but felt a light weight on my chest. "Leo." I muttered. I kissed his forehead, and he stirred a little. "Mornin' sunshine." I laughed. He wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me tight. "Thank you, for last night." He whispered sleepily into my side. "Of course. Sorry I fell asleep so early." I rubbed his back. "It's okay," he yawned, "I fell asleep only a few minutes after you anyways." He muttered, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. Just then, he shot up, he seemed anxious. "We're gonna be late for school! We don't have our books and we-" I cut him off by pressing my lips to his forehead. "I texted Molly before I fell asleep. She said her and Vera would bring our stuff. Don't worry." I ran my hands through his hair, messing it up purposefully. He laughed at it, and did the same to me. We both sat up and made our way to the school.

We walked back along to cobblestone streets. The street lights were off, and side street shops were just hanging their open signs. It only took about 20 minutes, but we got to the school on time, and with time to spare. When we walked in the gates, Chad pulled Ben and I aside. "What's wrong?" Ben whispered, although I had the gut feeling it was about Tristan. "You need to go. Both of you. Now." Chad spoke quick, quiet, and with an amiss tone I'd never heard. "Tristan is fucked right now. His head isn't in the right place." "It never is." I cut Chad off. "Whats his problem anyways? "Ben and Chad looked at each other worriedly, than at me. "His dad. His dad is his problem." Ben whispered, he seemed almost guilty of something. "What do you-" "His dad beats the shit outta his pride. And he finally fuckin hit him this morning. Like physically hit him." Ben had the same look in his eyes as he did when he'd saved me before. "He- Is he okay? I mean I know he's an asshole but c'mon nobody deserves that.." Ben wasn't whispering anymore. He was still speaking quietly, but I could tell he didn't want to be quiet about the issue at hand. "He seems okay, but he needs to take out his anger on something, or someone. I'm just scared it'll be you two." Chad placed his hand on his elbow, looking at the ground. "Thanks. For the warning I mean, but we have to stay." Ben said quietly. I looked up at him, since he was taller than me, and I gripped his hand tightly. He automatically knew I disagreed with his decision. "Let's go get our stuff Leo. Molly should be in the courtyard." I nodded. As we walked there, I held Bens hand, most people knew we were dating thanks to Tristan anyways. Maybe that was a blessing in disguise, because almost everyone, including teachers, supported us. We continued walking, until our grasp was disconnected, and Ben was pushed against the school wall.

I felt my back hit the brick wall with a thud, that's gonna leave a mark. I didn't open my eyes, because I knew what was happening. When I did, I saw nothing but Leo crying, and Tristan holding my shirt collar. "What, Tristan?" I muttered, his grasp was tight, I knew I wouldn't be able to get out of it. "I'm here on faggot  patrol." He said the second last word with a sly tone, he knew I hated that word. "Then look at me." A confident voice came from behind Leo, and we both looked over. The last thing I expected to see was another student with a tuft of red hair, standing up to Tristan. I didn't know who this guy was, but I knew he'd just saved me from a fight, because Tristan dropped me, and walked over to him. "And who the fuck are you, Mr. Firetruck?" Tristan spat at his feet. "I'm not gonna fight a bitch like you." The boy said, shoving Tristan out of the way, and grabbing my arm. He dragged me out of the way. "Wait! Leo-" I looked back, only to see that Leo wasn't there anymore. "Don't worry, he's safe." The boy reassured me. "Alright.. Thank you, for saving us there." "Of course. I'm not letting a prick with a bigger ego than me beat on some kids." He laughed. His voice was deep and melodic, a bit deeper than mine. I liked it. We made our way over to the school courtyard, Leo was waiting there holding our books, and sitting next to a smaller boy with a green tuft of hair. "Ben!" Leo yelled, he ran up to me and hugged me. The red and green haired boys laughed. The green haired boys voice was higher, and he was a lot more feminine then the taller red haired boys. Almost like a cartoon character. "You met Mark!" Leo chimed. The red haired boy, who I now assumed was Mark, waved at me. "Nice to meet you." He smiled at me with a silly grin. The green haired boy and Leo laughed. "And who are you?" I chuckled, as did Mark. "I'm Sean, but-" "Everyone calls you Jack, yeah we know." Jack punched Marks side. "Why did you save us, by the way?" "This may amaze you." Mark started. He grabbed Jacks hand. "We're a pair of big gays too." They both laughed, so did Leo and I. "I thought we were the only gay couple in the school." I said as I kept laughing. "Nope. We're the best. Completely surprised you've never noticed us." Mark smiled, pushing himself away from Jack. "As you can tell, he needs his daily ego boost." Jack giggled. Leo and I laughed. "I fucking love you~" Mark smiled, and Jack kissed him. We all talked for a while, almost missing a class, and as we raced down the yard to get there in time, we noticed Mark and Jack heading off into a different building than Leo and I. "Wow." I started, "In the 20 minutes we've been friends, I forgot to ask what grade you were in." "Grade eleven." Jack responded cheerfully. "We'll meet you guys after school? Front gate?" Mark asked, without his oh so  egotistical tone. "Sure. We'll figure out where to crash then." I responded, and we all walked off to our classes.
