"What if a watermelon broke in this area, and its pieces created this school?", a voice loud and carbonated with stifled giggles asked. Aki's popsicle blue eyes stared into the watermelon logo on the soda can.
"That'd be impossible, Aki san. Stop making these stupid statements.", Rena reponded, mimicking Ryoko with a contrasting and exaggerated austere voice. She was already weak from the jokes made before this one.
A small giggle evolved into a bigger one, making it a laughter. The two looked as if they were dying from a seizure, banging fists on the desk.. the soda fell off the desk without any of the two noticing, making a mess.
"Can you guys be quiet? This is a tech club, not some band. Also, how many times do I have to tell you to not bring drinks where equipment is present?", Ryoko scribbled something on the piece of paper, her handwriting perfectly neat as ever.
"Eh, I think it's fine. Just let them be.", Ruriko shrugged. She never seemed to care much for whatever happened.
"Do you understand how much these are worth??", Ryoko seemed to almost hiss.
Tap,
Tap,
Tap.A pair of careful footsteps approached the sliding classroom door. Reaching out to the door and sliding it open with little force, revealed a short black haired girl with glasses. She was alternating glances between the small white slip of paper between her cream fingers and the somewhat bare classroom.
"I-Is this.. right place?", she looked at the four other girls messing around, asking for confirmation in a somewhat broken grammar.
"You must be our new member.", Ryoko tapped a plain blue pen on the clipboard, making a clear and forceful "tap" sound.
"Welcome. Just in time for the announcement. Cho Byeol chan , tech club. Tech club, Cho Byeol chan.", the brown haired leader stood up, indicating that she wanted to make some kind of announcement. Though most of the club who were jokesters didn't want to admit it, Ryoko had an authority type feel that made you want to listen to her at any minute.
The new member sat herself down at an empty desk, only touching her blue 1st year tie nervously. The rest of the club looked at Ryoko with interest.. well, at least except for the one too occupied with the spill she made with the watermelon soda.
"The school festival is coming up. And as a club at this school, we must come up with some type of entertainment we could contribute. Any ideas?", she set down the clipboard on a desk closest to her.
"We could dress up as tacoyaki and sell food!", Aki jumped up from the floor, holding a wet mop, now stained with artificial pink from the soda spill.
"Something else. We're not some random cooking club."
"We could set up a maid cafe. I've always wanted to try wearing those frilly outfits in anime-!", Aki suggested again.
"Not okay by me.", Ruriko replied as soon as Aki finished her sentence.
"It's a no from me too."
"Then what! All the stereotypical anime ideas are a no.", Aki mopped the floor with a slight dismay to her expression.
"Rena chan?"
"Yes!", purple eyes blinked multiple times, slightly intimidated by the sudden spotlight.
"What do you think we should do?"
"Uh..", she looked around the room for ideas. None- the room was pretty much bare of decorations anyway. Only the whirring of the computers interrupted the awkward silence.
"Hey, Byeol chan, what do you think we could do?", Rena called out in desperation.
"W-we could give music.", she adjusted her red frames and looked up at Ryoko.
"But we aren't a music related club."
"How about we make AI play music?", Aki quickly added, squeezing the mopped up sugary drink into the bucket.
"You know, like vocaloid or something."
"That could work.", Ruriko tittered at the sight of Aki and imagined her being some kind of Cinderella, Ryoko as the stepmother."Are you guys crazy? We don't have that kind of time.", Ryoko protested.
"I think it's fully possible.", Rena intervened.
"I think- as long as we put our minds really to it, it'll be possible. If all goes wrong, we could always dress up as Tacoyaki like Aki san suggested.", determined purple eyes eyed Aki with a twinkle.
"Majority rules.", Ruriko shrugged.
"I'd be fine with that as well..", Byeol half muttered half spoke.
"Then it's settled right? Ryoko san?", Rena handed Ryoko a purple gel pen to sign off on the idea.
"Fine.", Ryoko took her own plain blue ballpoint pen and signed off, leaving Rena with a slightly worried face.
"Tech club is dismissed.", Ryoko declared, leaving the room swiftly. Perhaps too swiftly, as she had left her belongings scattered among the room.
