A/n: in this, you guys are in high school!!
Your POV:
Ben Cook. The school's cutie. He's not a bad boy, but he's not a complete nerd. He's just perfect. He's my locker neighbor, as well as my lab partner in Bio. That's the only interaction we have. I mean, there's the occasional time our hands brush against each other or our knees touch. But that's it, although I wish it was more. I just can't muster up the courage to talk to him. At least he knows my name, that's all I ask for.
With my luck, I start the day with Ben and I see him after every class. I mean, he's a total sweetheart to me, always asking me how my morning is when he first sees me. I try not to be completely awkward. But how could you not? I mean, his crystal blue eyes and curly blond hair are too hard to not get lost in.
"Y/n? Hellooooo? Why are you staring at me?" Ben snapped his fingers inches away from my face, trying to get a grip of me to take me back into reality.
"Oh, uh. Sorry..I uh, gotta go. Bye." And with that, I raced off down the hallway towards Bio, where I get to embarrass myself yet again. Fortunately, we have a test all hour, so it's not like Ben will get the chance to talk to me.
I sat down, gathering my things to make a neat pile on my side of the desk, making sure not to get in the way of Ben's seat.
As I began writing in my planner, he plopped down with a very over dramatic "agonizing" groan.
"Yes?" I looked at him, clearly impatient. I have to focus on the test, my grade in this class sucks as it is.
"Oh, I forgot we have a test today. I'll probably do mediocre" he replied with a smirk. He knows how smart he is, and he acts like he's a total idiot.
I scoffed, a little irritated at the fact that he has the nerve to pretend he's not an intellectual boy. A cute, funny intellectual boy. But that's besides the point. He knows how much I struggle in this class, and he's so knowledgeable that he doesn't have to study an ounce to pass.
"And what makes you act that way?" He turned his body completely to face me, clearly getting defensive.
"Well..uh. I uhm." I was completely at a loss for words. Stupid! I can't try to pretend I'm confident and then be at a loss for words. What an idiot.
With my luck, our teacher walked in as I sat there, dumbfounded. He did his casual greetings and immediately started setting up for our test.
Halfway through my test, Ben finished. After he was bored of doing nothing, he decided to irritate me. He kept poking me, kicking me, and making subtle noises. On any other day, I'd think it was cute. But I wasn't having it today.
"You know, rumor has it, I make you nervous." Ben looked at me. But I'd never seen this look before. He almost looked nervous to see my reaction.
"Uhm, Ben. Can we talk about this after class?" I wouldn't even look at him because I felt my cheeks flush instantly. He nodded and mumbled as if to say yes.
As promised, he followed me out of the class straight to our lockers. Usually he talks to his friends, but he was hot on my tail.
"So. Your answer? Do I actually make you nervous? I don't mean to. I just-" he trailed off, looking around the hallway as he scratched the back of his neck.
"I mean, yeah. I won't lie, you do. But it's not bad. It's..good?" I gave him a puzzled look.
"Wow. I just. Wow." He looked at me, astonished. What is this dude doing?
"Pardon?" I gazed the hall, just as awkward as him.
"I didn't know I did that to you when you make me nervous." A tint of pink creeped over his cheeks. Now it was my turn to be astonished.
"Are you saying what I'm thinking you're saying?"
"If you say yes to a date, then yes you're correct."
"Yes."A/n: YEET I don't know how I feel about this, but I'm trying guys!!
