A few minutes later, the rest of the kids entered the house with Freddy waiting in the living room. "Hey." Mary said. "How's Billy?" Freddy looked at her. "Not good." He said. "He doesn't even know who he is." Freddy explained what happened when he got home. Everyone immediately became worried. "So in a way, everything's like it was before he even came here." Mary said. Freddy nodded even though he didn't like to think of it that way. "But what about Shazam?" Darci asked. "Don't we need him?" Freddy grabbed his crutch and walked over to her. "He doesn't remember anything about him." He said. "I don't think we're gonna see Shazam for a while." Meanwhile in Billy's room, Billy was trying to remember as much as he could, but had no luck. After looking at some of his stuff he eventually nodded off and started having a strange dream. The dream appeared in pieces. There was a train, then a cave, then lightning. He then saw Black Adam, turning into a nightmare. Back in the living room, the group heard yelling from Billy's room and rushed over. "Billy are you okay?" Mary asked before opening the door. Billy was still asleep but was jerking through the nightmare. Freddy then walked over and tried to wake him up. "Sh...sha...Shazam!" Billy shouted. "Get back!" Freddy told everyone before a lightning bolt came into the room. It was almost hitting Billy when it just stopped an inch away, then suddenly went back into the sky as Billy jumped awake. "Hey calm down." Freddy said. "You're okay." Billy shook his head. "I saw that lightning!" He said in panic. "Does that always happen?" Freddy nodded. "But usually you end up changing." He said. Billy looked at him worryingly. "Change how?" He asked. Freddy took a breath and pulled out his phone. Mary grabbed his arm. "Are you sure we should show him this?" She asked. "Kinda a lot to take in don't you think?" Freddy nodded in agreement and told Billy he would show him tomorrow. While the rest of the kids left the room, Freddy stayed in with Billy. "You okay?" He asked. Billy wasn't sure, on one hand he knew he was safe, but on the other it all felt real. "Yeah, I'm good." He said, trying to stop himself from shaking. Freddy walked over to him. "Seriously, it's okay to be scared." He said. Billy nodded. "I guess." He said. But you're not the one who can't remember anything about your life." Freddy nodded in agreement, he didn't really know what Billy was going through. He looked over and saw the picture right where he left it and picked it up. He looked at it, then handed it to Billy. Billy looked at the picture and seemed puzzled, almost like he knew something. "Is that me?" He asked. Freddy nodded and laughed. Billy laughed along and looked at the picture again. He then pointed to his parents in the picture. "Who are they?" He asked. Freddy paused for a moment as he looked at the picture. "Your parents." He answered. Billy looked confused all of the sudden, like something wasn't right. "Then who brought me here?" He asked. Freddy suddenly realized he wasn't sure how to answer that. He tried to think of something but couldn't find the words. "They're our adoptive parents." He said. "They took us all in when we had no one else." Billy looked at the picture again, trying to remember anything about them. Unfortunately he couldn't, no matter how much he wanted to. "Do you know what happened to them?" He asked. Freddy shook his head. "You never really wanted to talk about it." He said. "We should get some rest." Billy nodded and watched as Freddy left the room. He then sat on the bed for a few minutes and stared at the picture for a while. He placed the picture on his dresser and then turned off the lights. It took a while for him to fall asleep trying to figure out his past. He felt bad not remembering anything. When he did fall asleep, something odd happened. Immediately he felt like he had woken up again, but he wasn't in his room. He sat up and looked around, he was in a tent. Billy got up from the bed he was on and walked around. He heard talking outside and walked out, the sun flashed in his eyes as he opened the tent. He saw three adults talking to each other while one was holding a scarab in his hand. The man was holding something else in his hands too, Billy could see a gun. The other man and woman ran to each other and the woman looked and saw Billy. "Honey, get back inside!" She warned. Just then everything came in pieces and flashes. He heard gunshots and saw the man and woman bleeding on the ground while officers walked around the scene. Another officer was talking to him and trying to calm him down, but he kept jerking away from them. Suddenly another flash came and he was in what looked to be a completely different world. He suddenly became alarmed when realizing that he couldn't breathe. He looked up and saw a woman in armor holding his neck with a glowing lasso. "What is the secret to turning you into your child forms?" The woman asked as she pulled at the lasso. "It's a word." Billy heard himself say, only his voice became deeper. The woman pulled at the lasso even harder. "Speak the word." She ordered. Billy felt himself trying to resist the power, but was unsuccessful. He never heard what he said, but was immediately turned back into himself, as well as the other kids. The woman then grabbed Billy by his shirt and picked him up, also raising her sword. As the woman shot the sword through him, Billy became so scared that he jumped awake. He looked around the room and tried to catch his breath, even feeling his stomach to make sure it wasn't real. He was relieved that he was fine, but was too scared to sleep the rest of the night. What was any of that? That was the question he would ask himself most of the night.
