Jessica's P. O. V
It was so fortunate Jazmin's parents approved to her living with me. They even told me to move to their house but I couldn't leave the memories my parents and I shared in that house behind. There was never a boring moment with her. I was more closer to her than Lydia. We both stayed in my room but when she is asleep I will go to my parents room.I miss them so much. It doesn't feel the same without them. There is no food in the house and I don't want us asking Jazmin's parents again.I really need to find a job. I started searching thoroughly the wardrobes in my parents room hoping to find something. But I didn't I was dissapointed. To think of it I'm sure my parents had money somewhere,but where? Let me just go find a job while I enjoy the scholarship the Principal has given me. While still in thought,a call through which happened to be from the hospital my parents died. The doctor said he wants to see me and that it's urgent but it's a good news.
Good news? How can there even be one. I told him I will see him the next morning. I went to bed thinking about the good news the Doctor wanted to share with me. Or my parents aren't dead? Nope it's not possible. I was there when they were been buried. I slept when I wasn't getting answers. I will get them tomorrow anyways.
I can't believe its actually morning.I checked the time and it's already 8:20am.I remembered I have to meet the Doctor today. I rushed to the bathroom and took a quick shower. I picked an outfit and put it on.Where is Jazmin? I haven't seen her this morning but we slept on the same bed. I went downstairs and saw her drinking tea or something. I told her I was going to the hospital to hear something the Doctor wants to tell me. She said okay and I left. I made my way to the hospital and asked for the doctor's office. I was directed there but I had to wait because there was someone there.
It was my turn to see the Doctor as I made my way to his office. He told me to take a seat and feel comfortable. He started talking in parables. What does this man mean. Hmm. He told me my mum was pregnant before she died and they managed to save the baby. I just started at him, I pinched myself to know if what I was hearing was true and not my imagination . I was still at the office sitting right infront of the Doctor. I wasn't ready to hear this. He told me the baby was still alive and strong now. He told me the baby was very weak when they operated my mum. So therefore the baby was kept in an incubator.Its been a month since I lost my parents and now this news. What was happening to me. The doctor went on to tell me I can take the baby home now since she is a month old. I was happy but I don't know how I will take care of my sister. My sister was brought to me and damn she looked like me. At least I have someone from my family left. I would do anything for this innocent baby. I got out of the hospital and reality hit me, how was I going to get money to buy milk for her and take care of her.
I went home and met Jazmin seated on the couch watching TV. She saw the baby in my hands and asked who she was and a tear slid down my face. I narrated everything to her and she smiled. She was happy my sister was alive. We are currently thinking of a name for my baby sister.
