We get in the car and he started it, putting it in reverse and out onto the road.
The ride was quiet and uncomfortable, making me move in my seat, shifting my legs and trying to get comfortable under his gaze. I heard my phone ding and I look at it.
Ash-Hey, I'm back at home and I have my alarm on. HBU?
Alex-I'm still in the car to the school. It feels very uncomfortable here, he keeps looking at me.
Ash-You know what won't make you feel better?
Alex-What?
Ash-This. (Picture) (Picture) (Picture)
I look at the photos. One has me in Jason's arms from before we broke up, showing a smile on my face and my finger's interlocked with his. We were at the school dance, a month after Valentine's Day, for the spring formal. I was on the bench and Jason was next to me, my head on his shoulder. He was smiling down at me and trying to tickle my bare-feet. They were the only part of me that was ticklish, but only he knew that.
The second picture was when it was still dark out. His arms were around my waist and my arms were around his arms. Jason's eyes were on the camera and his face was glaring daggers into Ash. I chuckled lightly and look at the last picture.
The last picture was in the light. It was when the both of us were awake, but not fully aware yet. The smiles on our faces were real one's though, showing every bit of happiness that I had before I moved from Ireland, to Virginia when I was 7. When I moved there, I was bullied on my accent and how curly my hair was, but then I changed all of it when I moved to Florida, where I met Ash, Jason, Cortney, Adrien and my best friend, Hannah.
The picture had me and Jason smiling goofily and looking at each other, with tiredness still in our eyes. I had hair in my mouth, but so did Jason, so it was okay I guess. I giggle at the stupid look on his face, with his short-ass hair in his mouth.
Alex-To be 100% honest, that actually made me feel better. It made me remember Ireland and you and all of my friends.
Ash-I thought that you would be cringing at how both of your hair is in your mouths! I took these at the right time, huh?
Alex-I know you did. I'm pulling into the school. I'll text you when I get home and put on the alarm system.
Ash-Okay, bye girl!
I put my phone away as we reach my car.
"What was the laughing all about?" I jump at the sudden voice. I breath in and out, calming myself from the sound.
"I was just texting Ash. She made me remember my old home." I smile at the thought of Ireland. The memory of the one nice day we had with the sun above our heads and a small rainbow was visible. We were at a beach and my dad took a photo of us, with the rainbow and the sun in view, dancing off the ocean and creating a wonderful setting and creating the illumination of the rainbow on the water.
"Yeah, I guess Virginia is pretty cool," he said, making hand gestures to amplify that he is being sarcastic. I just roll my eyes and scoff.
"Virginia has it's perks you know. It had many seashells!" I close my eyes like a child and cross my arms. He gives a 'humph' and I chuckle. I give him a look and he put his hands up in defeat.
I haven't told him about Ireland, only that I moved from Virginia to Florida when I was in Junior High. He knows that my family is Scottish and Irish, but I never told him about me being born there. He thinks that I was born in Pennsylvania, when my mom was there for a business trip.
