You woke up to the cool night breeze in your hair, forgetting the cracked windshield and obliterated ship. It smelled like the ocean, a tangy, salty, clean smell that made you feel calm. Another breeze blew by and the smell of something sour wafted towards you, and you sat up abruptly from your sitting position on the ship, looking around. Something was off. You furrowed your brow, standing up and holding out your arms defensively.

"Hello? Anyone there?" You murmured, looking around. No Khan, and the sun was down, the sunset leaking through the clouds in the horizon. You suddenly felt vulnerable. You grabbed a gun, holding it tightly in your trembling hands as you kicked open the nearly crushed door to the outside world. You looked around at the surroundings, the odd colored trees and grass, and the normal sunset. You glanced around one last time and sighed, lowering your gun and stepping back inside the vessel.

"I'm just being paranoi-" A sudden jerk of the ship sent your body flying like a rag doll, slamming into the back wall as you moaned in discomfort. You opened your eyes groggily, touching the back of your head gingerly. Your eyes opened to see a beady pair of eyes staring back.

"AH-!" You yelped, pushing yourself back as far as you could and shutting your eyes. What the hell was that? You opened your eyes slowly once more to see a small creature about the size of a small dog staring back at you. Except it was not a small dog. It looked like a miniature rhinoceros, except instead of thick grey skin it had green scales, and it was standing on it's hind legs, it's ears twitching back and forth. It was then you noticed the long tail, too. You furrowed your brow, looking it up and down as it stared at you, it's eyes flickering to the gun you held in your hand. It let out a small grunt, and came down on all fours, shaking itself out and trotting around your ship. You smiled slightly, yet in confusion, as you stood up, brushed yourself off, and noticed the creature walking around and sniffing things.

"What is that...?" You murmured to yourself, smiling. It was kind of cute, but you didn't know anything about it. Or about that large jolt in the ship. Whatever the jolt was, it must've gone away and left this thing. You walked closer to it, stun gun in hand just in case it attacked. Your steps were metallic against the floor of the ship, echoing slightly as you walked arms distance away from it, following it carefully as it still roamed the ship, sniffing around. What was it even doing?

Suddenly it grunted once more, shaking itself off and trotting out of the ship through a gap in the torn metal. You frowned, slipping through the gap after it.

"Hey-!" Wow. Like it understood you, great thinking. You stepped outside of the ship with your stun gun and looked around for the small creature, biting the inside of your cheek. Where had it gone? All you could see for miles were those tall, thin, purple trees with only a handful of leaves at the top. You turned to slip back into the ship when you gave out a shriek, running into something. You stumbled backwards, falling on your behind uncomfortably.

"Dear lord..." You grumbled, looking up and nearly screaming again. There stood a lizard man. Like, full on lizard. He was a bit taller than Khan, and everything was lizard except for the fact it stood like a human. You paled immediately, fumbling around for your stun gun, but nothing. The lizard man, who was dressed in tattered robes that covered very little but his chest and genital region, held up the stun gun with a single clawed finger, dangling within your reach. Somehow you knew you weren't going to get it.

But no other lizard people were around, and neither was that little lizard dog creature, or whatever that was. The lizard man held out a clawed hand and you flinched, now noticing your heart rate speeding way too fast to be normal. Your trembling hand reached out hesitantly, grasping it. The lizard man's hand was just how you expected it, dry and scaly and downright uncomfortable, but he helped you up, so he mustn't be that bad.

The lizard man gestured for you to follow him, stepping back awkwardly in a sort of backwards sway/trot into the forest where the trees were thickly packed. You shook your head, your eyes wild. Surely even an alien lizard would understand that. The lizard man just beckoned more, nodding his head yes. You shook your head, backing up. No way were you going with that crazy looking guy into some unknown purple-tree forest. You were smarter than that. But, you also claimed you were smart enough not to fall in love with a criminal, and looked how well that worked out. So obviously you could take a risk.

You cringed slightly as you allowed your legs to move for you, letting them lead you towards the lizard man who was now nodding his head vigorously; his globe-like eyes bright and wide as his mouth opened slightly, revealing a toothless grin and a large, flat tongue. You cautiously stepped forward, glad that you were now wearing black pants and a long sleeved shirt instead of your issues StarFleet uniform: that awful red dress. You honestly thought you looked alright in the thing, but it was just uncomfortable, and painfully short.

The lizard man walked close behind you as you stepped into the forest, pushing your way past the trees, branches crunching beneath your boots as you walked, glancing behind yourself awkwardly because of the close proximity of the lizard man, and also because you had no clue where you were going, and the man was behind you. You used the thin purple trees as handles to pull yourself forward, your actions stiff and forced as you walked to wherever the lizard man was leading you.

You really hoped you still had some sort of a plan left.

You didn't know if Khan was coming back any time soon.
