"Luna. Luna!" I was pulled out of my thoughts by a voice. "Yeah?" I replied. "I called your name five times. Your phone has been going off and you've been ignoring it.""Oh...sorry. I was just...thinking." I said. It wasn't fully a lie. I knew he was calling my name, but I pretended to ignore it. I had too many worrying thoughts the back of my mind. "Luna!" This time when i heard my name being called i jumped. On instinct i curled in on myself. I was used to being yelled at, and when i got yelled at i also got hit.
A lot.
"I'm sorry. I didnt want to yell but there wasn't any other way to get your attention. You were staring off into space again." Dan said softly. "Are you alright? You've been kind of out of it since we got here." I nodded. I wasn't alright, but it was no use lying to Dan. He always knew when something wasn't wrong.
He had been nice enough to take me to his house, claiming his parents were on a business trip for a few weeks. He also didn't have any siblings, so we had the house to ourselves. Even though he said he was willing to let me stay, I still felt like a was being a bother, and that he didnt really want me around. "I know you're lying." Dan said. I sighed and looked down. "You can tell me anything. Please. I want to be able to help you." Anger flared up even though i had no reason to be angry.
"I've already told you, but ill tell you again. I. Can't. Be. Fixed." I snapped. Dan looked surprised for a moment, then his faced showed no emotion what so ever. I knew that I'd screwed up. I couldn't take it anymore. Everyone i knew hated me for some reason, and i had just lost the only friend i thought i had. I grabbed my bag and stood up from the couch I was sitting on, tears brimming in my eyes. "I'm sorry." was all i said. I ran upstairs into the bathroom and locked the door, ignoring Dan's protests.
