Taylors pov:

My lip is held between my teeth as I watch the blonde flip through her chemistry book

"Taylor, are you even listening?" Cara asks interrupting my thoughts

I look to my best friend who has an angry look on her face and a glint of annoyance in her eyes "Of course I'm listening. You were talking about..skateboarding right?" I guess

She sighs "You got lucky"

I smile

"Will you be at the park today?" I almost jump in excitement at the voice. It's really her standing two feet away from me

"After I take my sister to ballet I'll be there" Cara explains shortly

Karlie nods at her "Taylor" she smirks

I swallow nervously and smile "Hi"

"You should come and watch us. I could show you some tricks" she winks at me "Catch you guys later" I scan her body in her ripped jeans and white T-shirt

"Taylor please. She has a girlfriend" Cara says

"Since when?" I ask feeling a mix of surprise and disappointment

"Since last week. From the amount of time you watch her I'm shocked you weren't aware" she laughs to herself

"Does she go here?" I ask

The blonde shakes her head "Someone from another school I think. Erika I think is her name. She only mentioned her to me once. She seems like she likes her a lot though"

"Since when do you and Karlie talk so much?" I cross my arms over my chest feeling a little left out

"Since we started hanging out at the skate park" she states "You really should come you know. She literally just said so"

I shrug "What would I do?"

"Watch. She said so herself that she'd show you some tricks. Be there at 5, see you at lunch" She scurries off to her next class

-

She's good. Like really good. Karlie has not fallen once and I don't even know if she's human anymore. She's too perfect

"You made it" she smiles at me before grabbing her water bottle and taking a seat next to me

This bench was honestly made a little too small..or maybe she's sitting just that closely

"Ya. You uhm..you look really cool out there"

"Thanks. Have you ever tried-"

"No" I already cut her off "I was 12 and I broke my wrist trying to break a fall. Skateboards are dangerous" I realize I sound like a mother and I start to feel embarrassed

She doesn't seem to be too bothered though "I get it. You know I've gotten a couple of concussions, as well as a broken arm and even a fractured shoulder" she shrugs while playing with her skateboard with her feet "They never quite felt the same again but I'm not going to stop riding. Even when they're dangerous" she sends me a smirk

I smile softly "You really are dedicated"

"Well everyone's dedicated to something that may hurt them..but the pain just isn't as great as the excitement" she smiles

"That's how I feel about a lot of things" I look to Cara who seems to be watching us with a death stare

"Like what?" She kicks her board up and sits next to me again
