Resistance (Jack Gilinsky)

Chapter 1

I woke up to Allison, my twin sister, banging on my door. 

"Mackenzie, we are going to be late!" She said through the door. I got up and opened the door. 

"I'm up, happy?"

"Very, now get ready" she said to me as I closed the door. I took a shower last night, so I wouldn't have to worry about waking up early. I walked into my bathroom and curled my hair. Today was the first day of senior year. I was glad that this was my last year of high school, I was also glad that I got to spend it with my best friends, Nash, Sammy. One of my other best friends, Ashley, was a junior and she wouldn't be graduating with us. Nash's little brother, Hayes, was going to be a freshman and we were going to bug him. 

I walked out of the bathroom after I was done brushing my teeth and doing my hair and makeup. My dog started jumping on me as I picked out my clothes. 

"Winnie, stop, I have to get ready, but I will pet you later" I said to her. She walked out of my room as I shut the door, so that I could get dressed. I put on a gray t-shirt with light denim shorts. I put on my white converse and grabbed  by bag and keys. When I went outside, Allison's car was already gone. I jumped in my black jeep and drove to school. 

I pulled in a parking space next to Jack Gilinsky's jeep. Oh my, how I hate his guts. He flirts with every girl and he is such a jerk. But, he is friends with Nash and Sammy, so I have to play nice. 

Apparently he just got here to, because he was sitting in his car when I pulled up. I jumped out and he followed me to the school's front door. 

"Hey, fritzie" he called behind me. I turned around and glared at him for a second. 

"What do you want, Gilinsky?" I asked, annoyed.

"Just enjoying the view" he said and I turned around and smacked him. He brushed it off like he always does and I walked away. 

When I closed my locker, Nash was standing there. 

"Well, I heard you and Jack G talked today" he said laughing. 

"Yeah, he was staring at my butt again, so I slapped him" I said, laughing. 

"Let me see your schedule" Nash said to me as Sammy walked up. I handed it to him and he looked over it.

"This blows, we didn't get any classes together. Sammy, let me see yours" Sammy handed it to him and Nash.

"We have homeroom together, but that's it" Nash said with a frown as the bell rang. 

"Well, I have to go" I said to them and turned around to leave. I knew that if I didn't walk a little faster, I wasn't going to have a very good seat, so I picked up my pace. When I finally got to the classroom and the door was shut. I opened the door and walked in. "Not a very good way to start the year" my teacher said.

"I know, I'm sorry" I said looking at her. 

"Don't let it happen again, go sit next to Mr. Gilinsky" She said. "Kill me now" I thought to myself as I made my way to the desk. My homeroom was in the science lab, so Jack and I shared a table. I felt his hand on my thigh and slowly moving up higher. I smacked it away and scooted my chair further away from him. 

"These will be your seat for the whole year." She said. "Wonderful" I mumbled. 

Jack looked at me and smirked. I hate him so much. He uses girls and then, once he is done with them, he throws them away. It's disgusting. 

When the bell rang, I grabbed my books and started to get up when Jack grabbed my arm. He spun me around to face him. "In a hurry much?" He said. His voice sent shivers down my spine. I jerked away and left the classroom. 

After a few more classes, it was time for lunch. I sat with Nash, Sammy, Ashley. I was eating a piece of pizza when Ashley kicked me under the table. 

"12 O'Clock" She said. I looked over at a guy with brown hair and a plaid button up. I got up and Ashely looked at me questioningly as I started to walk over to him. 

"Hey" I said to him. He turned around to face me. 

"Hey" he said with a smile "I'm Shawn"

"Hi Shawn, do you want to come sit with us?"

"Most  definitely" He said and followed me back to the table. He sat next to Ashley and I gave her a smile. She mouthed "You're the best" and I nodded. 

"So, Shawn what grade are you in?"

"I'm a Sophmore this year" He said with a smile. Ashley started to have a conversation, so I started talking to Sammy and Nash. Jack walked over and sat next to me. I got up and moved to the other side of Nash and they laughed. They all knew about my hatred for Jack.

At the end of the day, I was exhausted and I just wanted to get home. I was walking to my car when Jack stopped me. He grabbed my arm and I jerked it away. 

"You know what I don't understand?" He said while turning me around to face him. 

"No, and I don't care" I said and tried to walk away. He grabbed my waist and pulled me close to him. 

"Why do you hate me so much?" He asked. 

"Because you're a jerk and a pig and I just can't stand you" I said. He looked at me and for a quick second, I saw a look of sadness, then he laughed and let me go. I walked away and got in my car and drove home.
