Ep. 4 The Man With No Name

Karlea's POV

       "Guys we all need to stop with the fight and remember the deal that we had at the beginning. No hard feelings which mean Nikita, Karlea, and Nathan no more fighting. What happened is in the past now ok." Colleen told us. "Agreed." Everyone said. "So now that that is settled. I am noticing that the box has the same symbols on it that were on your briefcase along with the necklace Karlea threw down to Roi. And you said that those were," Matt started. "It's the Society Against Evil symbol," Joey told them. "What do you know about that?" Colleen asked. "Umm, one sec you guys. I need a word with Joey and Nathan in private. Nathan, come on." I said, grabbing Joey's hand. Nathan followed us outside the arcade. 

     "No no no, Joey you can not tell them about the past two parties. Let's just say stuff has changed since then." I started panicking. "Well, what am I supposed to tell them?" Joey asked me. "Just tell them the basics about fighting evil. That's all they need to know for now. Wait I sense someone is listening. Come on let's head back inside." I said. We headed back into the lounge. Joey told the group about the society.

    Teala bought over the map and there were two new places. The Man with no Name's lair and Shag's Motel.  "The man with no name was hunted because the town thought he was a freak of nature. He sure showed them. " Colleen read. "Uhh, yeah the man with no name is pretty scary so, yeah. Nathan and I only had one run-in with him and that is something I would not want to relive if needed. " I told the group. We then heard a thump outside. 

    "What the heck was that?" I asked. We walked outside and there was a sack on the patio. It was a dead body. Inside the bag with the body was a book, so we took the book to the lounge with us. "I'm getting close to finding the statue of Era. His power is both terrifying and intoxicating. Many have died seeking to obtain it. After gathering the obituaries, I discovered that their deaths have been secretly chronicled in 'Adventures of Allan Quartermain.' There's something about placing the volumes in their proper order that will reveal the statue. The painting holds the key." Joey readout. 

    We started searching around for the painting or the books. We needed six, thankfully Ro found one of them. After looking around we saw the books, painting, and where we needed to place the books. Joey found a secret pocket that had the obituaries. They were a bit gruesome. 

-- After finding the statue of Era--

    "Guys we have to be careful touching the artifact will cause the man with no name to appear." As the others went toward the statue, I could feel the crystal around my neck glowing. It was burning into my skin. "Gahh Nathan, help please." I gasped out. Nathan and Roi heard me and came over to me. "Sis, what can I do?" Nathan asked in worry. "The ice... Use the ice spell I taught you." I told him. Nathan was able to use the spell thankfully. "What is going on here? Both of you have been acting weird since we got here." Roi asked me. I looked towards Nathan and he nodded. 

   I told Roi about everything, the first two parties, the crystal, the society, Shane, and the carnival master. "Wow just wow. So when we went into the challenge you did use magic, that was no special effect. Karlea you have been through so much. You watched Shane die and Joey as well. Is he a ghost? Is none of this even real?" Roi asked hugging me. "Yeah and sadly all of this is real," I said looking down at Shane's name. "Hey, I miss him too. We will get through this." Nathan said holding my hand. "Come on we better find the others," I said. 

  "Mortimer, where are the others?" I asked. Mortimer told us the others were finding more of the clues and we were not in this one. "There is something at the gas station if you want to try and solve that." The three of us headed towards the gas station and there was a puzzle to solve. "I think we can do this if we put our minds together. Oh, wait, here take this Roi. It will protect you from danger." I told Roi. The note said, "Find five toes and reconnect them to the bone. Each toe has a number for the code. When one side goes up another comes down. Search high and low and to discover the two secrets of this town."

  "The Ferris Wheel, follow me," I said. We ran towards the Ferris wheel and there was the man with no name. "What do we do?" Roi asked. "I'll lead him away. Nathan, if I need to switch out be ready. Roi, if he comes towards you find a red light and stand under it." I told them transforming and running off. The man with no name followed me until I was picked up by someone. I looked at who it was. "Joey! Am I happy to see you guys are safe. Don't worry about the Lazurus coin. Roi, Nathan and I are working on it." I said, licking him and then running off. 

 "Nathan, I need to switch now. You guys found the toes sweet." We ran back to the pump and put the first two toes on the foot. A drawer opened and the note said, "15 doors hold a secret, see if you can find three?" We headed towards the barn and in between two of the doors were the pinkie and middle toes. I was searching the tree nearby and there was a key. "Roi, I found a key," I yelled to him. We met at the foot and placed on the toes we found. Nathan came over and told us the man with no name was busy.

  "If you want to find the last toe search for a box, where the dough is found near the gas station. Dough, there is no bakery in the gas station, Wait a sec, money! There is a cash register on the other pump." Nathan read out the clue. I walked to the other pump and there on the register was a keyhole. I placed the key in and inside was the last toe. "Ok, we got the toes all reconnected, where is the code?" I asked myself. Roi went over to the cash register and inside was the code we needed. "It's 62118," (Hint, hint, it's a date!!) Roi told me. We put in the code and we got the Lazurus coin. 

--After the challenge--

   We were waiting for someone to come back. I already placed the first coin in its spot. Ro soon walked in with the cleansed artifact. I knew that she came back a stronger person. Whatever happens next we will be ready.
