"Hey, Ian," I said, putting the groceries on the counter. "I'm home!"
"Hey, Liss," he replied. "What took so long?"
"Well, this girl bumped into me and accidentally spilled-"
"What!? Kid these days! They have no respect for-"
"Ian, settle down!" I said, cutting him off. "She was really nice, she even cleaned it up for me."
"Oh. Well, that's nice. How old is she?"
"Twelve. Her name is Lynley Harrison. She looks a lot like Hanna's husband's sister. But, I haven't seen her in years, so maybe they don't look alike now. Anyway, we really hit it off. We talked about Once Upon a Time, and even exchanged email addresses."
"Didn't her parents ever teach her about stranger danger?"
I shrugged. "Probably. But it's okay, because we're not strangers anymore. Now, I gotta go, I'm meeting Hanna for dinner."
"Okay. See you later."
"See ya."
I drove to T.G.I. Friday's to have dinner with Hanna. After ordering, she proceeded to tell me a story about her niece.
"So," she began, "remember Steven's sister, Katey?"
"Yeah," I said. "How is she?"
"Well, her daughter talked to a stranger today."
"Really? Kids these days really need to learn the dangers of talking to strangers," I said, not really meaning it.
"Oh, is that so?"
"Uh... yeah?"
"Does the name Lynley Harrison ring a bell?"
"What? Um, no... yes. I didn't even know you had a niece."
"Oh yeah. I have two nieces, the other one is named Nataly, she's six, and I have a nephew who's sixteen, Andrew."
"Oh, well, Lynley is really nice, we even exchanged email addresses."
"Yeah, she's really sweet."
Our chicken fingers finally arrived. I was eating for five now, so I was basically always hungry.
Hanna and I chatted for a little while longer and finished our meals before leaving.
As soon as I got home, I was so exhausted that I immediately changed into my pajamas and went to bed. But I didn't actually sleep before thinking about Lynley.
She was probably the nicest kid I ever met. Most 12-year-olds wouldn't have even had a second thought before running right out of the store if they had spilled my groceries. Lynley was definitely raised well.
I slowly started to drift off to sleep, but not before vowing to email Lynley tomorrow.
~~~
I woke up surrounded by billions of squids floating around my bedroom. And all four of my children were already born.
Except they were all boys. It was Harold, David, Maxine, and Fredrick. Obviously I asked why they were drunk off pineapples.
Harold answered shortly, "Because I was adopted."
"Maxine is a girl's name!" Maxine exclaimed angrily. "I'm a big, gruff man. Not a butterfly hugging little girl!"
Fredrick insisted that I call him Charisse and shouted loudly, "Ian is bald! Ian wears a toupeé!"
David seemed the most normal. He proclaimed, "I am Hat Harold! Hat Buddy Harold!"
Then we all died.
"BUT," Harold shouted, "I'M NOT DEAD! BECAUSE IN THE SIMS, PREGNANT PEOPLE CAN'T DIE!"
I was raised from the dead to answer Harold. "Are you implying that you're pregnant?"
He simply nodded. Then I died again.
---
That was officially the weirdest dream I've ever had. It seemed that every dream I'd had since getting pregnant with the quads was weirder than the last. I's have to ask Ruby about that.
I looked at the clock next to my bed and realized that it was still only 3:28 in the morning, so I immediately fell back asleep.
When I woke up in the morning, I sent an email to Lynley immediately.
Hey Lynley! How's school going? As it turns out, you're my best friend Hanna's niece! I gotta go, but we can talk later, maybe about OUAT. :) In fact, you can call or text me at 858-674-2813.
I had to meet Mindy for breakfast, but when I got home that afternoon, I saw that Lynley emailed back.
Yeah, my mom told me that you were Aunt Hanna's friend. Which is good because that guaranteed that I didn't get grounded for giving a stranger personal information. I can't call now because I have to get back to class soon, and then I have homework and stuff. Actually, I don't own a cell phone just yet so I'll just stick to emailing or I might call you on the house phone. Maybe we can meet somewhere soon.
Bye :)
Oh, yeah. I forgot that she had school. Probably because I was no longer working and I didn't have friends who were in school. Unless you counted my sister Fae, who was in college.
I had an appointment with Ruby that night-- well, it was at 5:00, so it was closer to late afternoon, but still- but I would definitely talk to Lynley if I got the chance.
A/N: HEY GUYS!!! Pizzabuddies here. Well, this chapter was kinda short, but it's my first chapter of this book, so it (probably) won't be so short (I actually can't tell how short it is since I'm writing on my ipod) with the other future chapters. Anyway, I hope you're enjoying this book so far!!!!!
Note from TheGodLover : I've edited this chapter because she was switching from past tense to present to past a lot so I just made it all past tense. Plus there were about 1000000 errors.
Don't forget to express your appreciation through votes and comments! Note from TheGodLover: jeez don't beg the people omg
