Hello and welcome!
Perhaps we should introduce ourselves:
Serena is sticky_wikkit, previously RobotsWillCry. One of the founding Author_Games Gamemakers, she has hosted over ten well-received Games (and several others that didn't quite work!) and is the author of countless unfinished Hunger Games fanfics, as well as the Aurum series.
Todd is bent-unbroken, previously TheOldKiwi. A previous Author Games winner with a flair for the descriptive, his effervescent writing style and thoughtful insights on the human condition have in the past resonated with many veteran players; now he's making his hosting debut! Play nice...

So that's us! What about you?
We're looking for sixteen or more writers to join our new competition - Who Pairs Wins! Based on (but hopefully no way as mindless as) the hit UK reality show 'Love Island', the competition is set on a luxury villa tucked away far from the madding crowd and features a whole host of young people vying to 'find true love' and capture the public's hearts, all in the hope of winning a whopping cash prize!
Tasks will be varied and designed to test the writer's ability to create realistic and sympathetic characters, engage with character dynamics both solo and in groups, and write both low and high-stakes scenarios with plenty of tension and conflict. They're also going to be fun! Hopefully.
Since neither of us could cope with following the show exactly without losing our minds*, we've made a few changes. For one, we encourage all manner of characters, not just those who are beautiful and popular. Give me flaws, people! For two, all our pair-up tasks will be gender-blind. We are also not allocating male or female slots; that's entirely up to you and who you want to write.
Each task will, as usual, hopefully take about a week and will take the following format:
- Task is announced, and time to write begins. We're aiming to always have a weekend within this time period. Anybody knocked out during the previous task will also have been announced at this point, as will the perks up for grabs for the next task.
- When the deadline passes OR all entries are received, the hosts will take a day to score them. Yes, it's not very quick, but we're both busy fossils with full-time jobs and we want to make sure we're actually scoring in depth and not rushing, as scores are so important...
- The scoreboard will be published and the X lowest competitors will be put up for votes. The scoreboard is an amalgamation of the two scores given by the hosts (though their individual scores will not be announced), and is reset every task. There will be an overall scoreboard, so you can track your individual standing throughout. The highest scorers in both scoreboards will receive the perk mentioned in the previous task.
- Voting! More on this when it comes around, but rest assured it's nothing new.
- At the end of the voting period, the next task will be announced.
And that's it! Simple! If you have any questions, please message the account or either of the hosts and we'll do our best to answer them.

So? If you're interested, or think you might be, send a message to sticky_wikkit (I won't bite, promise). This is NOT a reservation, just an expression of interest so that we can gauge numbers and make any adaptations that might be necessary before reservations go live. It's not a commitment and we don't expect you to honour it, should other circumstances arise.
Reservations will go live at a future date (soon!) so make sure to add this to your library and keep an eye out.
See you later!
- Serena and Todd
*sticky_wikkit watched it once. She lasted half an hour and spent most of it hidden behind a cushion.
