Stella's P.O.V.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Those notifications from Twitter just popped up on my screen, the first one being Kenny and Spencer following me, allowing them to send me private messages, then a message from Kenneth.
Kenneth Harris @kennethaharris
Hi Stella, you might know who I am but I'll introduce myself anyway. I'm Kenneth Harris, guitarist for Panic! At The Disco and a good friend of Brendon. Of course we have seen your video last month, and you may have fooled the fans but we know our buddy and I know the man with you was Brendon, or at least I hope so. If he really is with you please answer us, this is really important: we might have found a proof of his innocence. Spencer is going to contact you in the next minutes to plan a Skype call, or ask you for a way to contact Brendon if he's not with you anymore.
If you wonder why I contacted you along with Spencer, it's just to make you sure that this is not a joke or a hacker, and we are very serious about this.
Please, let me know when you get this message.
Regards, Kenneth.
I stared at the screen, reading the message over and over again until I got one from Spencer, as Kenny said.
Spencer James Smith @TheSpencerSmith
Hello Stella. If you have read Kenneth's message then you know why I'm contacting you. If not, I'll sum it up saying that we have some kind of proof that Brendon is innocent in his wife's murder. If he is still with you, I would like to discuss this with the both of you over a Skype call. If not, please let me know how I can contact him in any way. I hope I will hear from you very soon. -Spencer
"Brendon, what do I tell them?"
"Can I?" he asked, taking my phone from my hand. I nodded.
He quickly replied to both of them, asking me what was my Skype to call Spencer right now. I took my laptop from my desk and sat down next to Brendon on the bed, opened Skype and waited for Spencer to call. These were the longest minutes of my life. Right after accepting the incoming call, we saw Kenny and Spencer's faces appear on the screen.
"Hey man, glad to see you're okay! Hi Stella." Kenneth greeted.
"Hi Stella, hi Bren, it's been a while." Spencer waved.
"Hey guys, it's so good to see you! Yeah thanks to this wonderful woman I'm doing perfectly fine." Brendon said as he wrapped his arm around my waist to pull me closer, giving me a warm smile. "So tell us, what happened? What's that potential proof that came out of nowhere?"
"Well, you see this?" Spencer spoke, showing us a smartphone. "This is Linda's phone. She had lost it the day everything happened. And on that night Sarah tried to call her but she didn't answer because the phone was lost, and I found it this morning. It has been in our garage for 2 months. And I assume that your attackers broke into your house before Sarah could hang up the phone, because everything has been recorded on Linda's voicemail..." He paused for a moment as Brendon's jaw dropped. "Do you want me to play it?"
"I know it's hard, you don't have to hear that again if you don't want to." Kenny tried to reassure him. "We listened to it several times, and we can clearly hear that you both were victims in this story, and you didn't harm Sarah in any way. We contacted Stella because we knew there was a chance you would be with her, so we had to try. We wanted you to know before to give anything to the police."
