A Real Life Happy Ending

First Encounter

Ginnifer stirred in bed, as the sun shone through the curtains of her hotel room. The brunette was in Vancouver, Canada to shoot a pilot for ABC titled Once Upon a Time. She had just ended her stint in her HBO series Big Love. She was excited to take on a new project. When her agents told her about the pilot and the creators wanted her to play Snow White, she immediately said yes even before reading the script. Her biggest dream was to play a Disney princess, and it was finally coming true.

She stretched a little before getting out of bed. It was the day that her and the entire cast was going to meet for the first time and have a table read. She quickly ran to the bathroom and brushed her hair and teeth. After she finished in the bathroom, she went back to the room and grabbed a pair of jeans as well as a nice blouse. Ginny quickly changed and grabbed her cell phone, checking the time and texting her fiancé Joey as she headed out the door. However, before she could press send, she bumped into someone. She dropped her phone.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry." Ginny said as she knelt down to pick up her phone from the ground. She looked up and saw the most beautiful blue eyes.

"Oh it was my fault," The man responded helping her up. He gave her a polite smile.

The brunette smiled back at him before putting her hand out. "I'm Ginnifer, well people like to call me Ginny." She said. The man then did the same, shaking her hand.

"Josh Dallas. It's nice to meet you." He said.

Ginnifer stood there, gettting lost in his eyes before she shook out of her thoughts. "Well once again, I'm sorry. I should get going. It was nice to meet you too." Before she could walk away though, he stopped her.

"Wait, do you mind if I walk you?" Josh asked.

She turned around and smiled at him. "Yeah sure."

The two walked to the elevator and talked about their jobs. Ginny shared with him her past projects she's done including He's Just Not That Into You and saw previews of Something Borrowed. Josh listened intently and knew she looked familiar. He had seen her movies before and enjoyed every second of it. The elevators eventually opened and the duo walked inside. The doors finally closed after a minute.

"So what do you do?" Ginny asked curiously.

Josh smiled brightly. "I'm an actor too, I was in Thor."

Her eyes widened at the discovery and nodded. She had seen the movie with her sister and they both enjoyed it. She smiled brightly at him.

"I knew you looked familiar. I saw Thor with my sister," She said. "You did great though."

"Thanks, I'm glad you liked the film." He responded smiling at her.

Ginnifer bit her lip and glanced at her shoes before realizing that she didn't send the text to Joey. She unlocked her iPhone and quickly sent it. She placed her phone in the sidepocket of her purse as the elevator finally reached the lobby floor. She looked at Josh.

"Well this is my stop. Thanks for the company." She walked out of the elevator.

Josh smiled and followed her. "Your welcome, even though this is my stop too. I'm here working on a pilot." He said.

The brunette looked at him with her eyebrows raised. He walked over to a conference room with Ginnifer following him. The two was quickly met with two men.

"Josh, Ginnifer. I'm Eddie Kitsis and this is Adam Horowitz. Welcome to the first table read of Once Upon a Time," He said introducing himself and his partner before leading them to a room. Ginnifer glanced at Josh.

"Oh you're also in this show too." She said. A smirk appeared on Josh's lips.

"Yeah," he said with a chuckle. "Who are you playing?"

Ginnifer looked down. "Snow White."

A chuckle escaped his lips. "What a coinicidence, I'm playing Prince Charming." He responded with a grin causing the brunette to giggle. They both entered the room as Ginny paused, seeing a very familiar face.

"Jennifer?" She asked in shock.

"Ginnifer!" The blonde answered before standing up and giving her a hug.

Both Ginnifer and Jennifer both squealed and giggled. They were such good friends for a few years. The brunette pulled away from the hug and looked at her friend.

"What are you doing here, Jen?" She asked.

Jennifer smiled. "Why I'm doing this show too." The blonde then looked at Josh. "Hi I'm Jennifer." She stuck her hand out to shake his. He did the same.

"Josh." He said shaking her hand. 

"Alright everyone, thank you all for coming." Eddie said. "Please take your seats so we can begin."

Jennifer, Ginny and Josh took their seats when another brunette who was sitting next to Josh smiled at them. "Hi, I'm Lana."

Ginnifer and Josh introduced themselves to Lana and the table read was about to begin. The entire cast and crew was present. Everyone introduced themselves including the character they would portray in the show. When it came to the brunette's turn, she stood up. 

"Hi, I'm Ginnifer Goodwin and I will play the role of Snow White and Mary Margaret." She announced before sitting back down. Josh did the same thing. 

The table read for the pilot went off without a hitch. When they all got to some of the parts that were shocking, each member gasped at the reveals. After an hour or so, the table read was over. Everyone got up from their seats in excitement. Ginnifer loved the script and hoped that when it was time for ABC to pick up for the pilot season, Once will get the chance to be picked up so she could work again. It was almost a year since Big Love ended. It was time.

Ginnifer stood up and heard her phone ring, letting her know she recieved a text. She grabbed her phone from her purse and read the text from Joey. She smiled and replied with a "I miss you babe," and sent it to him before she was interrupted by Josh.

"Hey, are you going upstairs? Mind if I join you." He asked with a smile.

"Yeah, sure." She replied.

The duo said their goodbyes to everyone before walking to the elevators. Once again, Ginnifer's phone rang. 

"So, boyfriend?" Josh asked.

The brunette nodded. "No fiancé, actually. We've been engaged since December of last year." She replied. "What about you? Are you married?"

"Congratulations." He said with a grin. "As for me, no. I was, but we are getting a divorce. It's fine, it was for the best anyway." 

Ginnifer glanced at him and softly smiled sympathetically before she placed her hand on his for comfort. However, they felt this spark. They looked up at each other as she pulled her hand away from his. The elevators opened and they walked inside, awkwardness surrounding them when the elevator doors closed. 'What am I doing? I'm engaged. Oh but he is so cute. Oh Ginny stop it, you don't like him.' She thought to herself. When the elevators reached their floor, Josh glanced at the brunette.

"Well it was nice to meet you, I'll see you later." He said and walked out of the elevator, heading to his room. Ginnifer soon followed and watched him.

'Very nice to meet you too indeed.'

She just stood there, before she headed to her hotel room. Once she got there, she opened and walked in.

"Oh what am I going to do?" She said to herself.
