"BRAIN DEAD!! How likely is that?" Leon said as his eyes started watering.
"Well unfortunately more likely than not...about 85% chance."
"85%" Leon said as tears were streaming down his face.
He was devastated. He wondered how this could be likely. The woman he loved, the mother of his child could be brain dead. The news was tragic. He could bear to think how this could affect his son. Leon was overwhelmed. But deep down he wanted to know to know how to prepare.
"Do the test." Leon sobbed as he spoke the words. He need to pull himself together and see his son. After all Liam was the one to be most affected by this potential news, but he didn't want to worry him if nothing was wrong.

***time jump to next day*** Leon's POV
I dropped Liam off at school and then headed back to the hospital hoping we would get good news. As I walked into the ICU. I turned around when I heard my name...
"Mr.Vargas the doctor needs to talk to you. Are you headed to see Mrs.Vargas?"
"Yes I am. Is he going to meet me there or is there somewhere else I should see him.
"He is in there now checking up on her so just head on in" the nurse told me. As I walked down the hallway I became more and more anxious. This news could change our lives. I came to the door. I put my hand on the handle and stood there for a second. I took a deep breath and walked in. The doctor turned around and asked the nurse to leave. I walked in and stood opposite of him.
"I have the results... they aren't what we expected..."
