Glass - people look through it and see what is on the other side. It shines light through or shows the darkness on the other side. My dad is a glassmith and my mom is a housewife. I am Frater, a normal 16 year old boy with brown hair and typical brown eyes. It was a Sunday morning and my mom was yelling at me to do my chores. I hate doing chores, especially cleaning the attic. It's so filthy, disgusting, cramped and dark. There was nothing interesting at all, just old family photos, clothes and a bunch of boxes filled with random items. I hated the attic. I have always felt that someone was watching me and I could hear voices whispering to me. I'm not crazy or joking at all, these things only happened while I'm in the attic. Once I leave the attic, everything goes back to normal.

I thought I could have stalled it and maybe my mom would forget about it. I was wrong. As soon as I started eating my breakfast, she told me to clean the attic. "Frater, clean up the attic as soon as you're done with that," she said. "Fine," I sighed. My mom has a pretty smile, a kind heart, brown eyes and she wears a bun almost everyday but she looks tired today. "Are you alright? You seem sick," I asked with pure concern. "I'm fine, I just had a nightmare, thanks for asking. You remind me of someone special." she explained while her eyes were starting to water. "Excuse me, I need to do the laundry." she said while carrying the laundry basket and walking out of the room.

As soon as I finished my breakfast, went up the stairs to the attic. The air was cold and dry. The voices were starting to whisper to me again, I felt eyes staring at me from everywhere. I wanted to get it done quickly. Being in the attic gave me chills and goosebumps. I quickly started with the pile of boxes filled with random items. I started with a box placed next to an old wooden stool. The box had "Felix" written on it. I was curious, no one in my family was named Felix.

Digging around inside, I found a photo of a young boy standing with my parents. It was very weird, since I didn't have a brother. Inside the box was a glass ball with "Felix" engraved on it. I picked it up and looked at it, it was transparent and smooth. I placed the glass ball on the stool. I uncovered more photos of the boy and my parents. The boy had messy brown hair like me, but he had azure blue eyes, slightly tanned skin and a warm smile with dimples on each side. He looked like a child. I was getting more and more curious, as the voices got louder and louder. I put the photos back and walked back towards the stairs to ask my parents about the boy. Suddenly, there was the sound of glass shattering.

Oh god, I forgot to put the glass ball back into the box, I thought. The young boy in the photos was standing behind the glass shards. "Hi my name is Felix , what's your name?" Felix said with the warm smile in the photos. I was shocked, how did this child appear in the attic? "M-my name is Frater, h-how did you get here?" I questioned with caution. I didn't know who this child was and how he magically appeared in the attic. "I don't know, the last thing I remember is being on a hospital with mom and dad by my side, holding my hand and crying..." he explained.

"MOM! Can you come up here?!" I yelled nervously. "What is it sweetie?" she asked while climbing up the stairs. When she saw Felix, she froze. Tears started to roll down her face. "Mom?" Felix and I said simultaneously. She ran towards Felix and hugged him. "My sweet sweet boy, I missed you so much" she sobbed. "I'm here now mom." Felix explained while hugging my mom tightly. "I-I thought you were dead." she hiccuped. "Dad created a way for me to survive, he heard of a myth," he said . "This myth called 'Nox' grants people immortality. if a person dies while holding a glass ball with their name engraved on it, they will go into an endless sleep until someone wakes them up." Felix explained. "Wait, then why didn't he wake you up earlier?" my mom asked. "He didn't know how, he only heard a part of the myth, I believe he is still trying to wake me up, I guess he's too late since Frater already woke me up." he said while looking at me with his smile.

His smile warms me up and the whole attic too, the air was fresh and warm. His Azure blue eyes shone brightly. "Frater, this is your brother Felix," she pulled me towards him. "Thank you for waking me up, brother." He held out his hand. I shook his hand and said "We have a lot of catching up to do, welcome home brother." We hugged each other.
