The rays of sun streamed through the slits in her window. She covered her eyes and tried so damn hard to go back to sleep but that was never happening. Once the light hit her face, she never had hope of returning to sleep.
Elizabeth rolled unto her back and stared at her ceiling, realising the futility of trying to go back to sleep. Might as well get ready for the day ahead.
She jumped into the shower and washed herself clean, after which she donned jeans and a red flannel shirt with a pair of calve lengthy brown boots. Her silky black hair was pulled back in a simple, i-dont -really-care ponytail and she walked out of her foreign bedroom.
The new house was spacious and pretty. Yet it didn't feel exactly like home to Elizabeth. The only semblance of home was her godmother Genevieve.
"Genna? Ya there?" She asked through the door. She heard a sleepy groan and she chuckled under her breath. Unlike her, Genna could sleep no matter the atmospheric conditions.
"I'm done Genna. I gotta get to school."she urged. Then she heard irritated shuffling and suddenly the door was flung back to reveal a messy blond haired, impossibly short woman who somehow still managed to look angelic. Even though clearly irate.
"Ugh. You need a licence." She muttered. "Good Morning, Liz." Her irritated manner cleared.
"Morning, Genna. Hurry, I'll be in the kitchen.". She stalked down the flight of stairs into the kitchen where she fixed herself pop tarts and coffee. Also a glass of orange for Genna who resented coffee.
"Excited?" Genna asked as she downed the glass.
"Hardly. This is the 4th highschool I'm going to in the span of two years."she rolled her eyes just wishing for something permanent. But in her life, nothing was ever permanent.
"No sass, young lady. It's different this time. I promise. Let's get you to school then." They head out of their new apartment and get into Genna's black tainted windows Nissan.
"Blue Ridge High is great I've heard. Best in the region. I think you'll like it there." Genna said hopefully, blue eyes dancing.
Elizabeth hoped she didn't. It would make leaving much, much easier if she felt absolutely nothing at all.
