Just Like Lovers Do- Harvey Rafferty

The First Meeting

April 22nd, 2018, 6 am:

It's a cold bitter morning, but I guess this what I'm used to now. I live for travelling, I always find myself on a train going somewhere, always at concerts and gigs. It's strange, you plan these shows and you don't know what will happen on the day, who you will meet, what songs are going to be sung. Today I really had no idea I was going to meet someone who I would become close too.

I'm waiting for my dad to pick me up. I don't live with him, my parents split up when I was 2, my only memories with my dad as a child is me running out of nursery in a princess dress shouting "daddy!!!" As my dad bends down on one knee to hug me. I smile. I miss them days, them innocent days. I snap out of my daydream as I get a call from my dad "hello princess I'm 5 minutes away, I'll take you Costa when I'm here" I love that, I love spending as much time with my dad but we don't get alot of time. My stepbrother is a handful, so this is the only time me and my dad get together really.

I didn't mention but I'm going Warrington for Bronnie's EP Launch, I love her shows, the atmosphere and the music. All the supports are people I enjoy listening too, Danny Boyle and Offshore. I first heard off and met both Danny and Bron when I went to a gig with my friend in Manchester, it had a sort of catchy name, 'The Alstar EP Tour'. Offshore are a band I heard of and seen recently, I first saw them in Sheffield for The Hara, No Regrets Tour, I didn't meet Offshore then, I don't think they had time to come out into VIP But anyway I meet them today.

I can't really remember the order of the supports all I know is a story was being told I just didn't know it yet.

Offshore came on, everyone is screaming, I look to the right and see the bassist looking at me, he had brown hair and brown eyes, I couldn't help but smile at him, all through the show we kept on giving eachother glances, all my friends notice but I just make jokes about it. To carry on this joke me and my group of friends started a chant "oi oi sexy boys, I said oi oi sexy boys" its silly I know but I catch the brown eyed boy staring again, lifting his arms up to get people to join in.

The show is over and M&G is starting, me and my friends are last in line since we get group photos. As we're in line to go too Danny I look at Offshore and see Harvey, the brown eyed boy looking again giving another smile. I go up to  Danny and talk to him since it had been a while since I had seen him so we have a catch up.

It's time to see Offshore, my heart is racing, I smile as I walk upto each member giving them a hug. Oh god Harvey is next, I hug him and he doesn't seem to let go, I love his hugs, I can't describe them but I feel safe around him especially with this hug.

The M&G finished, we're all outside waiting for the artists, I see Harvey walk out, he's looking around and he walks to me and my friend, I look at him and smile, he's just so beautiful, wow, and his voice I could listen to him all day.
