Chapter Title: Reunited
Chapter Song: Remedy by Adele
~ Y/N POV ~
"Are you sure you're ok? You really don't sound healthy Peter." I spoke into my phone, racked with worry for Peter. He was sputtering and coughing on the other end of the line.
"I swear, I'll be fine. I'll just be out for like three or four days. I'm ok." He let out another hoarse cough and a small sniffle.
"Should I come by after school? Can I bring food or something?"
"I don't want you to get sick, too. May's taking good care of me. I'll tell you when it's safe to come over."
"Alright. Feel better, Pete." He let out a soft chuckle that once again turned into a roaring cough. I couldn't lie, I felt absolutely terrified for Peter's health, but I also felt cheated. I had been robbed of my boyfriend for three days and my best friend for four. I'd be stuck at home all weekend with my overly-tense Mom unless I could find someone to hang with. Ned and I were friends, but I wasn't as close with him as I was with Peter. I was dying to become better friends with him but he said that he had an Academic Decathlon thing this weekend. Amber was going to Manhattan for the weekend so I couldn't hang out with her either.
"Y/N? You still there?" Peter whispered into the phone.
"Yeah, yeah sorry. I've just been distracted lately."
"Your mom?"
"Yeah, actually, how'd you know?"
"You get quiet when you think about her."
"Oh, I do?" I was genuinely surprised he had even picked that up.
"Uh, yeah. I mean, I think. You were like that on the- at the sub shop. Sorry." Peters' voice sped up in what I thought was embarrassment.
"It's fine Pete. It's nice you noticed. I'll be fine. Just don't be surprised if I don't come back to Midtown after Christmas."
"No! You have to stay. I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you too, but I'm not going anywhere right now so if I were you I'd get less sick soon so we could hang out."
"Fine, fine. I'll try. See you later."
"Bye, Pete."
I hung up and walked back inside Midtown. I still couldn't believe I went here. It was a dream come true to go to a private school as prestigious as this. I ran back to the cafeteria to finish lunch.
PETER POV
I watched as my phone went back to its lock screen of Y/N looking over Queens on the fire escape. I took it a couple days after I met her, and she still didn't know I took pictures of her like that. I'd take photos of her staring off in class or smiling at lunch or at cheer practice. She'd taken a few photos with me for snap streaks, and a photo of the two of us with a heart filter on was my home screen. I knew it seemed creepy as just me, but if you thought about it, I just liked to capture my girlfriend's beauty. One day, if I ever tell her I'm Spider-Man, we'll come out and say we're dating and I'll just have photos that I can post about how beautiful she is. For now, though, they'll stay in their own folder on photos.
