The Moment She Walked In

Elise's POV :

Today is the big day. The day I have been waiting for. Today I will be auditioning for a role in a web series called "Carmila." As I wake up I remember the day I found out about it.

I was walking through town on a Saturday morning looking for my favorite cafe. When I walk in I order my coffee and as I am waiting something catches my eye. I see a new flyer on the bulletin board next to the counter. "Carmilla, the story of a student writer and her lesbian lover." I notice at the bottom of the flyer there is a number. I quickly put it into my phone as I hear my name being called.

The rest is history, I called the number when I got home and I was told that there would be an audition in three months. Here we are now, three months later.

I am excited to audition. This is going to be the first acting role that I will have. I have done plays and theater for as long as I can remember, but nothing like this. I'm terrified of what is going to happen. What if they don't like me and I don't get the role? Then I will have gotten my hopes up for nothing.

Well I can't worry, I still have to get ready. Can't forget today is the big day, or at least I hope it is.
Natasha's POV:

Three months ago on a Saturday morning I was walking down the road to go to my favorite cafe. I do drink coffee from home, but it doesn't taste the same. When I walk in I order my usual and as I am waiting I notice a new flyer on the bulletin board next to the counter. I walk over and read it. "Carmilla, the story of a student writer and her lesbian lover." Damn, I gotta be a part of this. I put the number into my phone, get my coffee, and leave the cafe. As soon as I get home I call the number. The man on the other end lets me know that in three months there would be an audition and as he figures out a venue he will send out the information.

Here we are now, three months after that Saturday. About a month ago Spencer, the director, sent me a text telling me that the audition would be today. I put the date into my calendar and forgot about it, until last night that is.

I was sitting on my couch watching TV and eating dinner when I feel my phone start to vibrate. I pick it up to see a familiar name on the screen. I slide right wondering what my best friend wants to tell me.

"Natasha! What are you doing right now?"

"Hey Sharon! Watching TV and eating dinner, how about you?"

"I'm going over the script for Carmilla, do you have the lines down?"

"Yeah, I think so. I will go over them again before I fall asleep though."

"Okay good, well I will talk to you tomorrow Nat. Have a good night!"

"Yeah, thanks Sharon. You too!"

With that our phone call ended. I finished eating dinner and went to reading my script. When I next opened my eyes the sun was coming up. Did I really fall asleep? Huh, guess I was more tired than I thought. I picked up my phone to see the time. 8 AM, not bad. The audition for Carmilla is in 5 hours. Plenty of time to get ready.

I drink a cup of coffee, this time from home, and eat some breakfast. After cleaning up my dishes I go and take a shower. Once I get out I go to my room to get my clothes. I pick something casual, but also semi fancy, don't want my first impression on everyone to be that I am a bum. Once I get dressed, wearing a white t-shirt, my favorite black ripped jeans, and my trade mark leather jacket. Damn do I look good in leather. I do my make-up and my hair then go and sit on the couch. Looking down at my phone I see that it is now noon, one hour until the audition.

As I am watching the TV I feel my phone vibrate next to me. I pick it up and see Sharon's name.

Sharon: Hey Nat! Are you excited for the audition? I'm excited, but also terrified. Do you have any advice?

Natasha: Hey Sharon! Yeah, I'm excited for the audition! I'm nervous on top of being excited. The advice I give you is do your best with what you know about the character and use your amazing acting skills. You are an amazing actor and I know you will do great!

Sharon: Thanks Nat, it helped out a lot. I really appreciate what you said about me. But you are an amazingly talented actor as well. If they don't choose you then it's their loss.

Natasha: Thanks Sharon. I think we will both do great. See you there!

Sharon: Yup! See you soon!

It's now 12:30, I'm sliding on a pair of black boots when I feel my phone vibrate. I look down to see that Spencer sent a text to a group message. I unlock my phone to see what it says

Spencer: Hey everyone! So I have received a couple texts from people asking how to get to the location for auditions. I will send directions to you all.

Just then another text comes through with the directions.

Spencer: Okay there you go everyone. See you all soon

I then walk out of my house and to my car. Using the directions Spencer sent us all I arrive at what looks to be an old studio. I walk in and I can't believe my eyes.
