Twenty Years Old Orphan

'Inayat... Ssshh!' Aaima whispered, put her point finger on her lips. 'Fatima is sleeping.'

Inayat burst through the door, cracking the room door open.

'oh, sorry Shotti Ammi. I'm so excited to meet my junior,' Inayat lied.

She is being forced her body into the forward position. A flawless an innocent Fatima - her sister laid in bed peacefully.

Inayat came near to Fatima. A soft smile grazed her lips as she raised her hands over her head.

Aaima felt happy to see love of elder sister for her new born daughter.

After two years.

Rain dropped down onto the glasses of his spectacles. No thunder no lightning came down over him but the dark clouds above were enough to make him shiver.

Houses walked both sides of the street. The street broke out into a house, a wet house stood up.

Qabeer hooked plastic bags around his fingers and he slowly pulled himself towards. Rain came pounding down from above and dripped from his cheeks. He knocked the door of the house. He heard someone was coming and twisted the door knob of the house, pushing it open.

'Qabeer beta, you here?' Ahmed raised a quizzical eyebrow.

'Jee Adda,' he said. His hair was soaking and he could feel the wet.

'come come..' Ahmed saw him wet.

Qabeer walked towards and when he got inside, Ahmed shut the door. Qabeer dumped the plastic bags. He peeled his coat off and dumped with that bags.

The place was dimly lit as they used mostly natural lights from the open ground in front of. To the right side of the front door was the kitchen.

'what would you like to drink?' Ahmed asked. His wife is not at place. She went Haleema's.

'A cup of tea, please,' he said, gathering his hairs up into a fist and squeezed out the water. His hair had been chopped off to the end of his ears. His beard had grown on his chin and lower cheeks of his face.

A little girl peeked around the corner of the wall.

Ahmed peered through his spectacles.

When their glance met. Ahmed spread his lips over a little girl but she beheld with puzzlement. Her heart thudded deep in her chest.

Ahmed came back with a cup of tea placed on tray and pushed in front of Ahmed. He took a cap of tea around his fingers. Ahmed kept tray on table and sat on char-paaye with Qabeer.

Ahmed took a sip of hot tea while he watched the sun rise.

Ahmed saw his daughter, she still peeked through the window of her room.

'come Fatima beta' Ahmed called her while she was peeking.

She stepped towards slowly with great deal of confusion.

'meet with your uncle, uncle Qabeer,' Ahmed said. Smiled.

Qabeer is Ahmed's first cousin(son of his paternal uncle.) He lived in a village with his father, step mother and step brother. His mother passed away.

'How're you?' Qabeer asked with smiley face, didn't mention beta. Fatima is eighteen years younger than Ahmed.

'fine,' Fatima just had said.

Confused.

Awe.

Wonder.

Qabeer left Ahmed's house next day. He visited for the first time. His father advised him to go Ahmed's place and make affinity with him.

His father suffered from chronic ailment. He needed a proper care and attention of Qabeer. Qabeer did his responsibility regularly. He did take care of his father.

Qabeer's elder brother could do but he was busy with many other tasks. He had his own job, a wife and the children. While Qabeer had no job, no wife and no children.

As same old routine Qabeer went out for bring medicine and fruits for his father. When he came back, heard blubber from inside.

'Ya Allah khair!' Qabeer grumbled. He hooked medicine and fruits plastic bags around his fingers and he slowly pulled himself towards. His brain tried to process what was happening during burst through the main door.

Medicine and fruits plastic bags were unhooked from his fingers and went downfall, shattering on the ground.

Abdul Qadir laid down on the char-paaye, closed his eyes. His first wife and their son wept and dropped their knees around him.

Hot tears stung down from Qabeer's eyes and rolled down his cheeks.

'Qabeer!' Abdul Qadir called him while he placed medicine back on the side table after absorbed the medicine to Abdul Qadir.

'Jee Baba,' Qabeer replied and placed to sit with him.

Abdul Qadir tried to say something. 'When I will no longer with you...'

'No baba, do not say that to make upset me,' Qabeer interrupted, didn't want to listen sorrow words from his father's mouth.

'This is fact, beta,' Abdul Qadir muttered, his lips quivered when he mumbled. 'You have to accept that soon I will be no longer.'

A single tear slid down her freckled cheekbone and he wiped it away with shaking fingers.

'Likewise your mother, I'm also going to leave this corruptible life,' he continued. 'sorry to say beta, your badi Ammi and your elder brother will not be as good as Ahmed with you. When I will leave the world, you will leave this place and will settle there (with Ahmed at his town).' Abdul Qadir ended his converse.

'Nothing will do like this, baba,' Ahmed said. He tried to comfort himself.

'Everything will like that baba had said.' Qabeer mumbled. Now he realized when his father laid down and closed his eyes.

Ahmed let out a muffled scream and dropped to his knees.

****

Ahmed widened his eyes, his fingers slapped to his mouth, a loud yell escaped from his lips.

'what happened?' Aaima asked when she heard Ahmed's yell. She rushed to come and waiting for a reply.
